I really appreciate you showing your mistakes. Shows me that mistakes can be made in the build and the finished product can still be awesome.

Thanks. FYI that five minute epoxy will heavily yellow over time, so it will cause the white sand to appear amber over time.
@budandbean19 жыл бұрын
Really impressed with the way you do things, the sand and epoxy, I'm my opinion, is sheer genius and has a real funky look. I'm going to look for that template also. I've seen some of the others that were just basically outlines, this one has a ton of information on it. Thanks for the video, can't wait to see how this paisley tele turns out!

Do you have a video on how to build a vintage style 1 piece neck with skunk stripe?
@74dartman136 жыл бұрын
Thanks for this video! For some strange reason, I have this mental block about building a neck. I think it's the truss rod! I've seen guys build jigs for their router to run in, and for some reason, it just overwhelms me at the thought of doing this...weird, because I'm usually never afraid to try to build anything! I have a router similar to yours with the guide on the side. This made it all come clear to me now. I can use my guide just like you did! Just wondering...what dimensions of wood should I look for when buying wood for the neck and fretboard? Thanks again for setting this straight in my head! I really appreciate it!👍😎🎸🎶

Great video! I'm looking forward to building my first neck & fretboard. Do you have info on the seller of the transparent neck template? I didn't see it on Ebay.

I just absolutely love your videos, but every time I watch someone do this, I wonder, why not shoot a small brad through where you know there are going to be inlays? The brad should sink enough and it seems a good way to locate it to me?? When I glue stuff up, I fight with the glue acting as a lubricant and moving my piece around. I use small brad nails in wood working, to combat this. Make any sense?
@bigdguitars9 жыл бұрын
yes for sure I have thought about getting a nailer for a while for specifically that purpose in mind. I could use it for a million things but just haven't done it yet. thanks for watching!

***** My bad... didn't mean to make it seem why you personally hadn't done it. I know about wanting and needing tools. I assumed since you have such a nice set up, and I think a compressor, that you'd have something like that around. They are expensive. My one came with a gun. Love it. Cheers and thanks!
@greengenie70636 жыл бұрын
Excuse me, there is no need for a compressor, there are much simpler (and more sustainable ways of driving a pin!) When gluing two pieces of wood together, another method is to create a location pin/s (could be brass or even a small wood dowel/s) which will sit between the two pieces at the glue line. Do everything with love.

How deep do you cut fret slots? When you radius a lot of the depth melts down.
@midi5104 жыл бұрын
How deep did you make the slot for the nut to sit in? I've searched with about every wording I can think of, but only get results for nut slot depth. Is there a standard for Tele or Fender nut depth. I'm using ebony, too, and man is that stuff brittle. Easy to chip.

Hi there, new sub here - great videos :) Can I just ask what router you have in the table, and what specs are your bandsaw - look tiny to me, but seems to do the job really well. Suppose you do 50mm hardwood bodies on that one too?
