I created a stocking similar and made it a 10” opening on top, however I’m using your measurements for the cuff, the size was too short. It squeezed the top portion of the stocking. (Used a 3/8” seam on everything, 19”w cuff, 10”w opening). How did you get it to fit? Thank you!

My cuts were actually: 1 Cuff = 10-1/2"Hx20"W 1 Loop = 6-1/2"Hx2-1/2"W Cut 2 outside fabric pieces Cut 2 lining fabric pieces Cut 2 batting pieces for stocking Cut 1 batting for cuff 4-3/4"x19-1/2" I used 1/4” seam allowances.

@@TheBirchCottage Yikes! In the video you stated a 3/8" seam, and the cuff was 10 1/2 x 19. Did you change this? I was going by the video and the instructions above. Thank you for clarifying this. I couldn't understand what I was doing wrong, but after seeing that the cuff was squeezing the top of the stocking, I added up the sizes and seam allowances, the cuff was coming up too small (of course I already made it, and it was too late to change). LOL

Margo, I'm so sorry about this. You can use 1/4" or 3/8" seam allowance and still end up with a nice large stocking. As far as the cuff, I must have misspoken. Clearly, you don't want the cuff to be smaller than the stocking opening. Totally my mistake! A "quick fix" to your stocking may be to rip out the seam, trim the stocking down 1/2" on each side, then stitch back together. Then your cuff should fit. Again, I apologize for this!
