Kasey said in a live performance "This song is the glue that holds my life together..... that's a lot of glue!"

That strained but controlled belt is kind of common in Aussie singers, at least those that can pull it off. Just came across your channel so I don't know if you've heard any Jimmy Barnes, but he does it like no other and Josh Tesky of The Tesky Brothers performance of Rain is a great example of it more controlled and less belted. Highly recommend checking both out. Really enjoyed your no BS reaction.

I'll agree and throw in a general comment. Most Australian performers will be best in front of a live audience. It sort of comes from the way the music scene in Aus runs.

Thanks for doing this. Kasey deserves all the attention. You going to go further down the rabbit hole. Check out The Captain Paste Studios version.

I love seeing someone genuinely liking a song Kasey is a fantastic story teller both in lyrics & voice. She started this song not long after she spilt from ex husband, she left it for a long time then finally finished it so I assume it’s about him. If you listen to “Rattlin Bones” you’ll hear her ex husband Shane singing with her. It’s also a great song 😁

Oh really? Woah, I may have to listen to that one. Going to add it to the list. And I was absolutely enamored with this song, for sure.

She's less country, but another fantastic singer songwriter from Australia is Missy Higgins. Her recent song "You Should Run" is an emotional one but I've always loved her song "Set Me On Fire", which she wrote about her struggle with writer's block a few years ago. I wouldn't say she's as powerful a singer as Kasey, but her lyrics are fantastic, she has a more laid-back vibe.

I'll for sure add both of those on the list! Thanks for the recommendations.

Yep same here chills....Kasey just opens her heart and shows the pain and passion of a lost love. Struggled though a very hard time emotionally and left as a single mum....Thank you for a great reaction my friend.

I just want to give you a hug! The emotion in this is so overwhelming I cried! We watched you at the WINGHAM music festival one year and your were amazing then too!!

Kasey had gone through a divorce leaving her a single mother, then a little later she had vocal chord nodes removed, which could have wrecked her career, plus what ever else life threw at her over a couple of years - result - she reworked this that she had partially ready. I guess sometimes it's like the blues, you have to live it express it well.
