I love your KZbin which gave me inspiration to start my own bonsai collection. I have suggestion of tree to be a bonsai. It's called Aegle marmelos , commonly called as bael . It has awesome root structure. Main beauty is that leaves arrangements. Two leaves to opposite side and one in middle. It has very pointy needles. It's native to Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia.

Hello from West Virginia Nigel. Bonsai has changed my life and you have been a big part of that. Thank you so much for sharing what you do with everyone. Your channel is the closest thing to a bonsai club we have where I live, (middle of nowhere). I just learned what bonsai really is about 2 yrs ago and now I have over 100 trees in training. Just wondering what type of tree is to the right of your bougainvillea around 13.19 in your video, with the weird almost maple like leaves? Thanks again for spending so much of your time sharing the art of bonsai with the world. Keep it up man.

I just dug up a Norway maple, and I planted it in a normal pot with a decent drainage hole. I am a beginner ( this is my first tree) but I have formulated a good soil, and I have researched bonsai trees extensively. I do have one question, can I keep the pot, or should I for sure jump onto a good bonsai pot before the tree makes a decent root base in the existing pot? Btw, I do know of the 2/3 rule.

Could that tree next to your new ficus be for any chance Euphorbia milii? It resembles like it. Anyway, Nigel do you recommend constant pruning on my willows? They are always growing new shoots and they are just overall very vigorous, and I fear constant pruning in the middle of the summer could kill the trees.
@TheBonsaiZone5 жыл бұрын
I believe that is my Aloe vera bonsai. I let the Willow shoots grow long and then cut them back. I stop pruning about half way through summer and then let them grow until fall when they loose their leaves. This will keep your Willow vigorous.

Hello friend first I would like to say your videos and your bonsai trees are absolutely great. Iv came to you for a bit of help. I’m new to bonsai and have a lovely sequoia sapling and as I was wiring and training it I noticed a very small crack in the area where I bent it. So what I want to ask is in your opinion do you think it will mend and my sapling survive? I’m just a worrier and I love my trees and don’t want it to die😞 if you could please reply back thank you so much and have a wonderful evening.

Once you get it out of the pot, you can cut away a lot of the roots, or sort them out and plant it higher in the pot with fresh soil underneath. Be sure to keep the soil damp after re potting. I water mine daily in the summer.
