Kevin on a burn like your daughter received it is best to use dry cold compresses to keep from also receiving boils. I hope she was better in a short time. I also enjoyed seeing Dufuss he appears so happy and content with your family. 😊

I will be praying for your little girl Kevin. We did 12 days at a burn center with our middle daughter, I'm so grateful she wasn't burned worse! We know how painful and scary burns can be. Calendula salve has done the best for us and burns where the skin stays on. It speeds up healing and relieves the pain some. Hope yall are doing well. Happy Thanksgiving!

That yard, especially the walkways and sidewalks, would have defeated a lesser man! Glad you’re wearing the gaiter and not doing any more dusty jobs. In certain parts of California you’d be exposed by dust to the organism which causes Valley Fever (cocccidiomycosis). I hope Maddy is healing well and is not too traumatized. Slather the entire burn with honey,it will take the heat from the burn,it will also hopefully keep it from blistering. I got this remedy from a beekeeper friend and it works. My granddaughter got a rel bad burn from a pellet stove while refilling it on her hand and never blistered. Honey is a natural antibacterial and antibiotic.

Kevin; I keep a bottle of pure Lavender essential oil in my kitchen for burns. It prevents swelling and scarring. DO NOT put it on an open wound though. I use Bleu Lavande because I know the company well and have visited the fields myself. Just make sure it's quality and pure, no added ingredients~ after the cold wash and pat dry. Saline for cleaning. Many Blessings and speedy Healing ~

The body’s ability to heal is amazing. About 25 years ago, my BIL was severely burned and given a 7% chance of surviving. Then, when they started removing dead tissue, they realized it was much worse. He is now in his eighties and going strong. Word of advice, NEVER start a fire with gas.

That’s wild! I have had bad burns before but nothing like that. I got mine as a teenager messing with black powder. The pain is so intense and last so long. I can only imagine how he felt. The recovery really sucked my skin was one massive scab and didn’t move or flex. The burn was on my right hand and arm, face and my legs.

You're right, your health is the most important thing to be there for family. I am still here for my family will be 74 Christmas. My hands are crippled and husband has to do everything for me. First off, gotta get yourself a scoop shovel and/or, I know it sounds weird, but a snow shovel. That last house was a mess. Either one of those shovels will allow you to push the piles down the walk and pile everything up in one place. As I said, I know it sounds weird, but it works and cuts about 25% off of your time. A regular shovel doesn't cut it for a job like that. Good to see your daughter is doing ok. Happy Thanksgiving!
