These must be run on some sort of emulator because the old games definitely didn't look this good. Back in the day you just didn't have flat lines represented by many polygons, there was no anti-aliasing at all on the PS1 or 2 and it was barely used on 3. Just search GT1 screenshot and you'll see what it really looked like. Even GT3-Aspec is not at all how it was in reality.

The the more dynamic chase cams from GT4 and before were definitely more wholistic and fully encompassing of the real life driving experiece. The Fixed cams they later adopted may have been more true to actually putting a chase cam onto a real life vehicle, but made the racing experience feel stiff and basic. I remember after GT4 and before GT7 it felt like racing remote control cars, except they were stationary and the road was just green screen in the background. Graphically it's always been amazing though. GT 4 still looks the most impressive to me by today's standards compared to when it was released. GT2 & 4 will always have a soft spot in my heart. But definitely enjoying GT7 on PS 5 more than I've enjoyed a Gran Turismo game in over 15 years

Despite all Gran Turismo are PlayStation only, the developer always Programmed it with a PC for sure. Gran Turismo 1 & 2 was designed to run on SDR RAM, likewise PS1 machine. Gran Turismo 3 up to Tokyo Geneva was designed to run on DDR1 RAM because that's the base model of PS2. Gran Turismo 4 & Prologue was designed to run on DDR2 RAM because that's an uplifted hardware in PS2. DDR3 RAM was released to public for the first time in 2007. However PS3 was released in 2006. PS3 itself was already using a prototype Version of DDR3 RAM before it was released for public/end user. Therefore the Gran Turismo HD concept was running on Prototype Hardware from both developer's PC and PlayStation itself. So up to GT5 it was designed to run on DDR3 base model. GT6 was on PS4 and it was running on uplifted version of DDR3 RAM. DDR4 RAM prototype was released in 2014, but final product was released in 2015. However all versions of PS4 has no DDR4 version. Hence why you see the limitations of GT7 on PS4. PS5 might be the only console - along with XBoxSX - to receive hardware uplift from DDR4 RAM to DDR5 soon. Thanks to AMD.

@@nerd2544 gt6 wasn't on ps4, ps4 used gddr5, PS3 uses a mix of xdr and gddr3 ram. Ps5 uses gddr6 ram not ddr4, don't know where they are getting hardware uplift to ddr5. Ps2 uses rdram not ddr1 or ddr2. Yes I'm aware that ps2 got a slight boost, not major but gt4 would always be built for base ps2, ps2 slim slightly faster clocks and extra edram so their comment on the ps2 is just wrong

I own all three and enjoy all three. GT can be addictive at times, we'll see after this update. It's unfortunate how Project Cars was review bombed. It's not being backed by a multibillion dollar company, so excuse the lack of photo realism. it has great physics, and looks good on Ps5, anyway. Was it a bonehead move to not have tire and fuel wear?, big yes. Catch it on sale, you'll love it. Good games, good time to game.

@@painkeller20 It addressed a good deal of the issues folks had with the economy and was a step in the right direction. With things like more used cars and legendary cars in the dealership. They increased the payouts for a lot of events, and added payouts for completing certain tasks such as finishing circuit experiences.

If you want to show the real evolution of the GT Graphics, you should honour the original settings and not do it with the emulators setup with way higher resolutions (and filtering in the case of PS1) because the PS1 GTs actually look way better in their original settings (320p, no texture filtering) than in "uprezzed" emulation due to PS1s bad vertex handling (the wobbliness) and the textures being made for a device without filtering.
