@ you can buy full games that come with dozens of cosmetics for the same price as just 3-4 skins. Some of the best DLC of the last few years cost as much as one or two of these skins. It’s this mentality that “well it doesn’t break the bank” that’s letting these companies get away with this too. Nobody is saying that buying a skin is going to put them into debt. But the fact that we’ve allowed the industry to get to the point that $16 for a single game asset is considered “reasonable” is sad when just over a decade ago people were up in arms about a $2.50 horse armor.

for starters lowering the price of skins is already problematic. They're not groceries they're pixels, but besides that, they shouldve added a filter to choose favorite heroes, seasons and events to increase the likelihood of getting content from those filters. Also one thing Marvel Rivals does that i think ow should try is including, sprays, namecards, souvenirs and maybe emotes with skins. ppl hardly care about most of those but they would at least make a 20 dollar skin more worth buying

2:12 just based off that I can tell you there's likely an ai that is calculating how many of the skins have sold vs if they're free or other factors, and 50% is likely the cap, and since this was a straight up free skin you didn't even need to grind for which is super rare, it would make sense why the ai just went 50%. And this is what I expected as this is definitely a system designed to sell off skins that didn't sell as well, it prob has some things where it gives a skin a boost here or there, some rng factor but just like how a casino is set up systematically to always win, this system is definitely set up to maximize the profits over anything else... be nice if they did something just to be nice for once, like imagine if they just let you pick a single skin that get discounted or something, this is just weird and feels scummy which is not the vibe you wanna send out right now with rivals out there tossing out entirely new skins for fan favs like candy...
