By far one of the greatest episodes yet, such an amazing story to hear especially for someone my age 24 that grew up watching all of the shows he was on and always wondering the true story of what happened to Chris. Couldn't listen much past the intro where he said he would use tannerite or his truck to kill deer if it was legal! No respect for the animal. Just because its legal doesn't make it morally right to do so. He just reinforced my perception I had of him in the past. Maybe i'll listen to the rest later but I doubt it. Absolutely love this channel, been watching for a while. I have to say 2 things that really stood out was the fact he compared his state of mind of killing a deer to a veteran's mind who went to war and had to take a human life. That was the first thing that shocked me, they are nothing alike. The second being that he compared his "keeping quiet or not admitting to the charges" as basically the same as when the people condemned Jesus to the cross. The absolute gall he had to say that. But again love the channel and love the platform you give people to speak on these topics.

I loved watching Arrow Affliction and liked watching all of Chris's shows. He was a heck of a bow shooter. The trick shots he did was amazing. Glad to see him come out talk about this incident. After listening to this podcast, it's really changed my view of him. I know people make mistakes, but he's just a giant blow hole. He never once was apologetic about what he did. He tried to blame others and his past (abusive dad..etc..etc) for his actions while trying to praise Jesus. To blame sponsors for leaving him when his incident happened is pretty sad. Why would any sponsor hang around him when those videos showed up. Sounds like Huntr and him are teaming up for future projects, very sad for Huntr. Poor Jared sounds like he's in love with Chris.

I got to meet him 1 time and to sum it up he was a complete asshole. After watching this it's clear he's got an ego problem and he can't man up to the shit in his past instead of blaming everyone else. But yet he magically found God afterwards which to me I see as just a facade. But hey maybe him and CJ can team up since they both like poaching deer

He didn't say anything wrong about what he done in any way that implied he was innocent of the charges. @@HUNTRPOD one more thing to touch on the content aspect of things, Chris Brackett made content that you could watch over and over and be intrigued. Content nowadays I find myself and many others skipping through the dull moments and there is the same thing flooded with the same energy. I got to hang out and chat with Chris at ATA in 2010, and he's a dude! I didn't get to see it, but I was told he was shooting playing cards in half sideways with his bow. I was videoing hunts in the industry at the time, and what a blast that show was! Best show I ever attended. It was a bowhunters dream come true! I hate to hear it's turned south, which is no surprise seeing how hunting shows have changed since I was around the industry. Y'all are right. It was one huge close community back then. After parties and hanging out with the top names in the industry, it was like hanging out with old high school buddies. I was with some people that knew Chris, and we hung out for a while. He was as humble, cool, and down to earth as anyone I'd ever met. He stayed way after and talked with fans and friends. I met a ton of people from the industry who were awesome and also some not so much. Alot of keyboard pirates on here that pretend they've never been in the wrong. If some of them knew half of the stuff that's gone on in the industry, they'd be mindblown. People make mistakes, and I'm happy to see Chris tell his story. He was a wolf in his day, and I hope he makes a comeback. When you're in that spotlight, everyone is out to point fingers and hoping you slip. Good to see Chris with his faith in JESUS!

Great segment guys, I truly feel like he laid it all out here. We as hunters have all been in a position where we may have stepped over the line a time or two, 99% of us have at one point in time said should I do this or not. He was exactly what you said he was the 200” buck that they just had to take down. They used him to set an example and ultimately he paid his dues. Chris said it best we’re all human, none of us are perfect every single one of us is a sinner. He has chosen to take another approach to his life and that’s his choice to make. I can remember when he started the aerial bowfishing and all of my friends were like we gotta go down there and try this. We all watched his shows weather you loved him or hated him he produced amazing content. I wish him nothing but the best as he ventures on his new journey in life. The industry has definitely changed it’s become a game of inches literally, how big was he, is what lost people ask. We need to showcase more of the true raw emotions afield when it’s a kids first deer, first anything that true raw emotion is what we all can relate to and remember why we love learned to hunt so much.

After watching this, I get completely where he’s coming from, he’s wanting a 2nd chance and he’s kinda tried his best to make things right etc I think it comes down to his personality or who he portrayed himself to be on tv years ago, I’ll be the first to admit, he kinda rubbed me the wrong way when he was on the outdoor channel / sportsman channel just because he was so different, but again that being said all because he’s not my cup of tea Doesn’t give me the right to not give him a fair shake. I do think the story about the Indiana deer is a little hard to believe or follow, but like he said, most of that stuff is documented and factually logged with all the legal stuff that was involved. Overall I do think this podcast did him some good on winning some people back! He’s changed my mind about who he is now compared to who his was then. I’m glad to see he’s changed his perspective on life and realized killing deer isn’t what this life we get to live is all about even though we all obsess over it. I actually didn’t know who Chris was - I have not watched but a few shows in 10-15 years. Everyone has opinions & mine is no more valid than the rest… everyone screws up & “hunting industry” puts itself at a category like it’s the center of the world. It’s not. Being around “hunting industry” but keeping my distance - I am glad for this. The industry needs change. There’s too much toxic elements involved. We need more humble good people doing TRULY PASSIONATE things in this industry. If we don’t change the trajectory - more folks are gonna turn off it off with what it’s become. Egos, doing all for $ & the company whore house approach is not working. Everyday guys see a “yuck factor” in much of the television model. I like a lot of people in it but we all need a collective refocus. I’m Last one to judge & like any human - hope hearts & soils are changed & redemption is ALWAYS there for us. Granted by God & that’s how we are to treat others as well- with forgiveness. Great discussion & reinforces my strong belief that this industry needs a total remaking & focus!!! Good job & merry Christmas.

Another great podcast guys. Glad to hear Chris's side of the story. Love him or hate him Chris Bracket is a bad mofo arrow affliction was one of the all time great hunting shows and definitely one of my favorites. Chris seems to be truly humbled and i believe his apology is sincere. Im not gonna lie I liked booya Chris Bracket he was brash and a bit arrogant but he backed it up with his hunting and archery shooting skills thats undeniable. Some people dont care for John Eberhard because hes a bit arrogant but as a Michigan hunter I have the utmost respect for him because i know how tough it is to kill mature bucks in heavily pressured states. Its not being cocky if you back it up. Most of the people hating on guys like this aren't even remotely close to being on their level of skill. Gotta give respect where respect is due regardless of whether someone is humble cocky or somewhere in between. I look forward to seeing more from Chris in the future. Great job again guys keep up the good work 👍. BOOYAH 😁

It absolutely is cocky, even if you do ‘back it up.’ The dude is an ass hat/clown.

I heard a lot of rambling and beating around the bush. I feel he left some stuff it that’s why he rambled on. I feel he is humble to it now and did his punishment and it good he is moving on and making the best of it.

For the talk about the sharp shooters and “cwd control” and what not, the agenda I believe is they eventually want that resource of wild game gone. Then it’s one less thing us hunters have going for us for independent food source, and also too have firearms. “No need too hunt if there’s no wild game, so don’t need a firearm”. That’s always been a big thought about it but oh well, most people would say eh tinfoil hat or something dumb.

They will use the bird flu to take out wildfowl hunting..Alot of agendas at play here.

In Missouri, there is quite a bit of evidence that CWD sharpshooting is working. I'm not really for that...mixed feelings. Either way, you guys should have Jason Sumners from Missouri Dept. of Conservation on the podcast Great voice for hunters and the disease side of things. You guys would love the conversation.

Hey fellas, in South Dakota it’s called Indigenous Peoples day not Columbus Day! I’ll be listening on oct 14th for the correction 😊

Its sad that a guy cant apologize and state reasons to why they made choices not excuses and describe the path they took to get to the conclusion and place they are. People are arrogant and judgemental as ever and it shows. The lack of forgiveness and understanding drives the division in this world and shows to be abundant.

I think I would legitimately cry if this podcast ends anytime soon lol.

I didn’t know who Chris was until I looked him up on google and saw old pictures of him. I don’t know how to feel about this one, I wish you guys would have set the tone right from the beginning and called him to the mat when he said the old bullshit line of “it’s my property I’ll kill a deer how I want too as long as it’s legal” just because it becomes legal doesn’t mean it’s a good thing for the resource. So that made me think he was kinda a dink for that line but all in all I can’t say I like or dislike him but regardless I appreciate the conversation. Great pod boys!
