I frequently follow your videos. Very informative and useful. Thanks for sharing🙏 .. A request....could you please also make a video on how to insert our gene of insert and design primers using CLC software. Thank you!!

Hi, Do you know how can we remove paralogs using bioinformatics?
@thebumblingbiochemist6 ай бұрын
I don't, sorry!

Hi, At 8th min of the video, you told that ago has 4 paralogs in human as search shows in uniprot. Does paralogs have same function or different function in a single species. can there be more paralogs of ago in human which have different functions. Thanks

Paralogs can definitely have different functions - some are redundant, whereas others are non-redundant, but typically do similar things

@@thebumblingbiochemist Thanks for the reply. I have some very basic questions of which I am not able to find the answer. I will be very thankful if you can clear up my doubts or point me in the right direction. I need to find paralogs and orthologs for a human gene using BLAST. Ques 1: Should we start with DNA sequence or protein sequence. Or should we start with protein and run tblastn. Ques 2: If we use DNA sequence, which database we should use to get unique sequences. Ques 3: I am not able to find a protocol on how to do it. I would be very thankful if you could provide a reference to a protocol. Just remember that I am just a newbie in bioinformatics. Thanks

Hi. There are a variety of different approaches. Hopefully some of these resources can help - sorry I don't have time to help further! www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/home/tutorials/ digitalworldbiology.com/tutorial/blast-for-beginners www.jax.org/-/media/jaxweb/files/education-and-learning/tutorials/blast-written-tutorials_clickable.pdf?rev=d7c9d4d8518c4691853a5f28fd6cd80f Best of luck!
