A good excuse to use the Type-7, it has a really good passenger capacity (only 16 less than a Type-9!) while being smaller and more manoeuvrable than the bigger ships.

@PumpkinTuna3 жыл бұрын
Yes! My main rescue craft is a Type 7. You can even reserve a few spots for limpets and cargo space to pick up pods and other goodies. Just fill every utility slot with heat sinks. When you are flying, just stay steady and calm. If you're just landing to pick up passengers, a few heat sinks should do it. If you are getting materials and salvage, find a good place to sit, watch your landing or departure timer and fire off a new heat sink when you heat up. When you are down to one sink, start leaving slowly and keep collecting until you go out the slot.

Thanks for the vid! From previous, limited experience, I can't suggest enough a medium sized ship like the Python. Inside the station can get cramped, explosions can knock you off and struggle to get back on course with bigger ships, on top of that while getting ping-ponged you can get fined by loitering, and you can't take passengers until you pay the fine. A Type7 may work if you don't have enough for the Python. But if I had an Anaconda, Beluga, T9, and Python, I'll take the Python everytime, you'll get in and get out faster and potentially hauling more passengers at the end. Good luck and have fun! yeahh... heat sinks!!!

Had no problems with filling my T9, you get blasted around sure, but with 3 heat sink launchers, there was no prown trousers, got myself unstuck easy enough, maybe 10 secs extra compared to python, which i would have selected had it been convenient, better heat management with python too.

With salvage missions I take the opposite approach: I gather all the stuff I can inside the station, and then pick the missions at the rescue ship in order to minimise the leftovers, since most missions have a variable numbers of required items, it is easy to stack them up with no need to sell the odd ones (at a very low price)
@grahamcrabb77143 жыл бұрын
Not for the faint hearted but definitely fun and eventful. I remember my first rescues and now just load the heatsinks and get into that hanger ASAP! Your temp by time you land will be like 100-150. I used to challenge myself that I could land without firing a heatsink and only expend 1 when launch to go. Worked a few times, but you will at least spend 2 heatsinks. When you launch drop a heatsink and get outa there QUICK! By time you exit temp most likely be 100 again but then you cool off in the vacuum of the black. Remember to repair ship integrity as this takes a bashing with excessive heat and getting blasted off course hitting debris. For the ultimate challenge you could go shieldless, but I usually prefer shields. Give it a go you'll be a pro in 4 or 5 runs. Excellent video Cmdr Buur (Rheeney) thank you. All best 😁👍🏼

Great video, as always useful information, thankyou. I have been doing my rescue missions in Achenar using my Orca converted to a rescue role. Voice Attack takes care of most of the heat sinks, but to make life easier I have de-selected all my weapons, scanners etc so the only thing showing up on hard points are heatsinks and I have equipped three of them. Putting thermal resistance on my shields and shield booster also seemed to help by cutting down on damage. I noticed after upgrading the shields and booster that the amount of money spent on repairs after every mission was much less than when I started. 07 Cmdrs.

Was in Ceos at the time so decided to race up to one with my dolphin to have a look as it can travel over 40 Ly. Then went to a station near by and summoned my python cost around £2 million and about an hour and a half which left over night ohh the pain... never landed manually but figured out the easiest way to line up was passing station with your back to it around 5km then lining up , deploying landing gear and heat sinks ( I have no weapons on mine so heat sinks are fire groups 1 and 2 ) then line up and keep it at around 70 until about 3.5 km and request to land. Doing it this way has helped me lots as not worried about anything else apart from landing at designated pad and if i run to hot I fire heat sink. If your grinding rank make sure u focus on reputation ! I am now 1 run from Duke and being able to buy a cutter which I can’t afford but hey I can save for it :). My python can carry 130 souls. I used it for my account nr 3 (few eng) with economic passengers cabins and 32 tons cargo, and a 3a collector. Like this we can do both rescues: passengers and materials, pods. etc., all at same time. I would also add a point: if you do it for reputation: filter missions like in the movie, but start filling cabins with missions having fewer people and more +++, for at the end you can collect more reputations points with a full cargo. The problem with the Type 9 is that it is slow and hard to maneuver. I always end up white knuckled after bouncing off walls and debris, and it seems to take forever to land. I'm thinking with a more maneuverable ship, I could get just as many passengers in the end because I will be able to do more trips in the same time. Thoughts anyone?
