Another tip for newcomers: Before you visit engineers or super popular systems, switch to solo play until you are ready for a fight. Gankers and griefers spend all their time near engineer stations. With their fully engineered ships, you don't stand a chance in your sidewinder.

@@doursen by super popular I just mean systems that a lot of players visit. Like Sol, for obvious reasons, and Shinrarta Dezhra. because it's the home of the pilots federation. Engineers are places where you can go to upgrade your components. Where you can unlock overcharged shields and weapons and such. Different engineers specialize in different things. Honestly, you'll have to look them up. There is waaayy to much to talk about in one comment here.

@@boundlessmatter4361 Yep there are links online and they will give you Instructions to follow. Most can jump over 50 ly at a time so it usually doesn't take long for them to get to you. I recommend getting a fuel scoop though

I literally do none of this. I'm a very chilled player and the freedom to do what you want on this game is never highlighted enough. I just land on moons and take off again. I create my own relationships in each station and mentally remember that I have a wife and child in the R.A System. And I never carry weapons as I just do transport missions. Commoditie trading etc. Buy low sell high. I use an online guide for that and I plan multi drops. I end up very busy haha. Feels like an honest job. Eventually I'll be able to buy a big ship for me and my made up family. I did recently obtain the sol pass and about 2 years ago I thought I'd never get it but decided to grind it out. I'm glad I did. However how I feel like I don't dare leave sol as it's too amazing. They did such a great job on this game. I play on xbox one. Can't wait for odyssey

I got my SRV completely stuck in some debris while out on the periphery of the Bubble once. I considered relogging into non-Horizons mode or self-destructing, but opted to call the Hull Seals instead. So glad I did! The Seal arrived in just a couple minutes, nudged his ship into position, and popped me out of the handle like a pro. It was amazing!

Yes, but in my opinion will be a lot more "simple" in the form: don't get me wrong, this is not a bad thing, because I personally believe that star citizen's developers are trying to do something that probably is too complicated in terms of content and they tried to do multiple tasks instead of focusing in few things (like core mechanics and less explorable planets but with more content). I would be really happy to get something like this.

Omg I'm so overwhelmed! I had known about Elite Dangerous for many years but I though it was just an arcade type shooting game in space. I had no idea it was this complex! I just got ED for free on epic games and this video popped up in my subscriptions so i thought I'd take a look at it and now I'm so intimidated to play it. You really don't need to feel intimidated. You can learn at a steady pace and accomplish loads whilst doing that and once you've learned stuff, you can start to learn more. Get used to flying your ship and doing a few missions - trade and combat - then start to upgrade to a better ship and think about engineering to improve it even more. Regarding Engineering, a word to the wise: most people, when starting on engineering, go for the obvious first choice, which is to upgrade their FSD for bigger jump range. To do that, you need to go to the Deciat system and griefers/gankers know this! Make sure you go into Solo mode when visiting this system to avoid the knuckle-draggers until a time as you can at least have a chance to defend yourself.

Also worth noting is Mobius, who provide a PVE Co-op Experience for Elite: Dangerous. All it can take is one rather nasty person to come blow you up for no reason and set you back quite a bit, and we as humans have this thing called 'negativity bias.' If you don't wanna fight other players, or would rather avoid getting ganked while still having some form of Open play, check 'em out

I come and go fairly often from ED. I never really know what to do however, so I do my own thing for awhile till I tire of it then move onto another game. I do keep coming back though. Playing alone is part of my issue, and not really knowing what I could or should be doing is the other.

So I just got into E:D I've figured out how to navigate 4 and more systems ahead using the galaxy map, plotting routes avoiding hazards, like super cruising or hyper jumping near a star... yeah that's not good. Also figured out when you are silent, don't attempt to move. I am on an Xbox One X. If you're knew and can figure out how the star system routes works, do the courier missions first and upgrade your sidewinder. Don't worry about buying a new one. The next few ships won't even compare at first and the loaners are good enough for those missions. I had almost 200k in 6 missions mostly going from space station to space station. Maybe I got a lucky roll, idk how the game works just yet. Seems really fun and I'm glad I went through the tutorial!

As a console player I don't get Odyssey yet. But I'll take this time to learn. I'm currently trying to get some guardian tech. The Thargoids following that one ship makes me think they may attack Sol. Now I'm an Empire player but I definitely want to protect the cradle of humanity. I just got the game the other day since I was told it was close to No Man's Sky and EVE. Have been loving the game! Currently I'm grinding Exploration with my Cobra through Road to Riches so I can buy an Anaconda. The only thing I'm lost on atm - Is what to do next and the "middle" to "end game" purpose.

My friends and I started playing today. One of my friends had to call the Fuel Rats 3 times. I haven’t figured out how to land on planets yet, which led to me abandoning a mission and now owing 70k to a faction (can’t remember the name). I have 8 hours already and I love it. Definitely gonna play this game for a long time.

At its simplest, Supercruise Assist will try to put you into orbit around the planet, then you just have to wait until the station is ahead and point your ship at it when the angle to the station is around 60 degrees. Too steep and you'll see red warnings and have to back off for another approach, to shallow and you have to wait while you fly at slow sub orbital speeds. The docking computer will do the actual final landing just like at a space station.

I have an idea for you. Do a new player Q&A format series, where you answer questions posed 1 to 2 weeks ago. For example, how do you scoop fuel? I think after 20 to 30 stars I've figured it out, but for all I know there's a much better way. Another example is where and how to buy drones. This 1 i think I researched enough an hour ago, but can't try till I get home. I frequently find things like, here's how to use the drones, but how to get them was clear as mud, and I had to dig through Reddit a while. I'm sure your viewers will have plenty of fodder for you remembering what they found confusing when they started...

Also if your curious about the game, basically it's a space exploration sim is the best way I can describe it. There's really nothing else quite like it, at least on Xbox.

FYI about those fleet carriers do not land on them if you’re a new player because your permit to go back to your beginner stations will be revoked instantly and permanently.

Margonite yeah, just go to alpha centuri and look for Hudson orbital. When you get there, then you should get a cutscene of an anaconda coming out of the security docking bay. It looks really cool! Also make sure to pick up a mug or two whilst you are there!

If your a new player I’d suggest honestly sitting in a station and joining some multi crews bounty hunting for a hour or 2 I made like 10 mill when I did it when I was new it’s a real helper also helps you get better at flying and combat so a bonus
