Literally over a dozen different Western navies have scored at least one kill against a US carrier during war games, it's peanutes. The Dutch Walruss-class is rightfully number one because it's the only diesel-electric to annihilate literally half the US carrier taskgroup including 5 or 6 frigates and destroyers and even a Los Angeles-class nuclear attack sub, all of it while remaining undetected and getting away unharmed afterwards. The Dutch are widely revered in naval circles because of it. Just Google "Dutch sub sinks half US navy" and you'll find a dozen articles about it.

The only reason the Gotland even got close was because of the scenario requirements that the surface ships couldn’t use active sonar. The US military frequently hobbles itself in wars games to see how effective specific systems are without the support of other systems. Yes the Gotland class are very quiet, but that does absolutely no good when the surface ships are using active sonar.

You're claiming the Americans hobbled their own carrier and while I understand that tests like that will be important to see suboptimal situations, the fact is, the Gotland still slipped through and had the opportunity to make a theoretical attack. For what it is, that's not bad. These things are so cheap compared to their American equivalents.
