Yep! I made a huge mistake in mistaking Will Rogers for Roy Rogers. In my defense they are both cowboys named Rogers. What is more surprising is how few people called me out for accidentally calling Napoleon Bonaparte “Napoleon Dynamite”.

Will Rogers' horse was not Trigger. You got him mixed up with Roy Rogers. Easy mistake to make. Both were iconic though. Hard to say who was more but I might lean more towards Will Rogers.

RhettyforFun As an adult, Will Rogers’ favorite horse was named Soapsuds - as a child, his favorite was Comanche. He had other lesser- known horses as an adult.

Jon R. The Rogers also had their German Shepherd Dog, Bullet, and Buttermilk, Dale’s horse, mounted ( they are not “ stuffed”) - all 3 were on display at their Victorville museum and then at the Branson museum. The TV station that bought Trigger at about croon also bought Bullet and perhaps Buttermilk.

I've only been to Potter's once...sometime during the 80's,on a family trip to St. Augustine. As I recall, except for a figure of Elvis in an iconic spangled jumpsuit, the museum was all historical figures. While I still have the brochure from back then, the pictures I took then....like every other photo I took prior to the late 80's...have mysteriously vanished.

"Hanged/Hung" is like "lay/lie." When someone is hanged, it's always "hanged," never "hung." Objects are hung, people are hanged. Same with lay/lie. "Lay" means to place an object on a surface. "Lie" means to recline.

Dear Carpetbagger. At the 28th second of the video, notice the green trolley in the background. That trolley driver is me. You couldnt hear me because you was busy talking to the camera (which is ok of course), but I was talking about you right there and then to my trolley guests. Yes! I recognized you when I saw you standing in front of Burger Buckets restaurant next to the Potters Wax Museum. I even pointed at you. I spoke real loud in hopes that you would hear me. I said to my trolley guests "omg folks. To my right is one of my favorite youtubers. His name is Jacob. His KZbin channel is called Carpetbagger. He goes all around the nation to all sorts of strange, curious, unique spots, roadside spots, etc. I love his videos". Yeah dude!! It was awesome. I wish you heard me and pointed the camera at me! :) Let me know next time you're in town. I can get you in most of the attractions for free here in St. Augustine so that you can make more videos. :)

At some point, a 24-ft (7 m) replica of a rearing Trigger was produced to sit atop the Roy Rogers Museum in Victorville. The 1,300-lb (600 kg) replica could be seen from the freeway and served as a landmark until the museum closed and moved to Branson. When the fiberglass replica of Trigger was being made, Rogers was approached by the owners of the Denver Broncos. Rogers allowed another statue to be made and then broke the mold. "Bucky the Bronco", Trigger's twin, stands above the south scoreboard of the Denver Broncos' stadium.[7] After the closing of the Victorville museum in 2009, its contents were placed at public auction on July 14-15, 2010, at Christie's auction house in New York City.[8] Trigger's preserved taxidermy remains sold for $266,500 to television channel RFD-TV, which plans to start a Western museum.[9] Bob Tinsley, a Victorville developer who had built Roy Rogers' home in nearby Apple Valley, bought the fiberglass replica in April 2010. Tinsley's plan is to make the statue a part of historic Apple Valley Village. He explained, "I just couldn't see letting him go anywhere else."[

So when I was about 11 my folks took me to Potter's for my birthday since we lived so close to St. Augustine,us being in Jacksonville. It was the first location Potter's ever resided in,which was huge and quite elaborate. We were the only people in there that day looking around, when a thunderstorm blew up and prompted a power outage. It was 1980 and it was such a deliciously creepy moment.I wouldn't have missed it for the world. My mother, however, would probably disagree.(The employees came with flashlights and escorted us to the exit, with complimentary passes for next visit, they weren't going to let us become the next exhibit...)
