You'll actually find one of those caterpillar rides with the cover over the ride vehicle on every nostalgic fair / carnival in Europe. It's one of the most common classic fair rides here. In The Netherlands we call them 'De Rups', which does mean caterpillar.

The lights on haunted house experience is for children and families only. A guy pushing a needle through his arm in the early afternoon? The whole family can attend!
@ParaRobАй бұрын
Actually, it is just for families with small children. No childless families allowed in the lights on haunted house. Lol! I couldn't believe they made the sideshow available for all ages, though. That's gotta be the craziest thing I've seen in a while as far as what an establishment considers acceptable for all ages. There were very young kids in that audience who are definitely going to have nightmares after seeing not just the needle through the arm but the spiral needles that guy was passing through his nose and out of his mouth. If you pause it on a few of those scenes, his face looks all distorted and very inhuman like while he's doing that. I'm very curious if they gave some kind of warning at the beginning of the show to let people know how graphic things were going to get so they could choose whether or not they want their young children to be exposed to that kind of stuff. Surely, they'd have to give a warning, right? I mean, I know adults who can't stomach that kind of thing. I don't have a septum, so I can pass rope or other soft and flimsy things through one nostril and out there. I've seen adults nearly pass out from watching me do that little trick, which isn't anywhere near as graphic as the stuff in this sideshow. I read your comment before I watched the video and couldn't fathom what you were talking about. I was thinking he may have inadvertently filmed a junkie on the street or there was some kind of prop, but to my surprise, you were spot on with your literal interpretation of what happened. There was actually a guy shoving a needle through his arm and face in a family-friendly show. Lol!! I guess, since it was early afternoon, they're able to push the boundaries a bit further. You know, we're able to see things so much better in the daytime, so it makes them less scary because that kind of thing in the dark is so much scarier. Haha!! I couldn't help but respond to your comment after seeing that part of the video. You were so spot on with it! Thanks for the good laugh!

The long gone Ghost Ship dark ride at Kennywood had a Bill Tracy waterfall. It was so much fun. The ride burned down while the park was open. Some management guy at the park saw it and cleared an employee out I think. Anyway that treasure was reduced to ashes. Only memories remain of clanking cars and the smell of grease.

Great video. Fun fact. The caterpillar ride was very popular in the early days of the carnivals. A lot of the polar express rides are refurbished caterpillar rides. I rode one once at a carnival here in Canada but the cover wasn't working! Be safe!

The Mine of Lost Souls is an unusual n iconic n creative dark ride for SURE!!! When the ceiling parts break down n look like they are falling on you it reminds me of a ride from when I was a kid or preteen called "The San Francisco Earthquake" n I BELIEVE it was in either Cedar Point OR Disney World, not remembering which n it WAS in the 1970's, early, n was THE BEST Dark Ride Ever, but I don't know where it disappeared to it why either!!! It had the same scary elements of the buildings n architecture falling down on you then rolling back up after you passed through as this one does after the original story of tourists going through the streets n alleys if San Francisco first, BEFORE the Earthquake of 1906, then during that same legendary earthquake!! I wish I could find some old footage of it or find someone who knows which park it was in n why they removed it. Our family only went to two major parks back in the 1970's, Disney World n Cedar Point, so it HAD to be one of those two. If you can find it plz present it to us cuz I 've been thinking about it for years lately since I started watching these park vlogs!!! THANKS Carpetbagger!!!
