Big MISTAKE during the video family! I mentioned the Japanese proverb 十人十色 during the episode and pronounced it as “jyuu nin jyushoku” as some more apt Japanese language students have pointed out this is read “jyuu nin to iro”. Let this be a lesson to all who study Japanese; just because you know kanji it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t break it down to its hiragana parts. I run into this a lot. It’s a bad habit and just goes to show that you’re always still learning... Even if you are at a decent level of proficiency. Sorry for the mixup. The section has since been edited out so as to not deter from the original intention of the episode.
Since my essential pieces are in heavy rotation, it's important they're made of 100% cotton. Durability + breathability. General rule.

I've been into carhartt wip for so many years and the aesthetic with some pieces. After messing around and spending thousands of pounds of trying to find my true style lol none of it was working for me. That was until I met the eastern world through insta. Nanamica, snow peak and so on. Damn this is all my style. I never knew that there was a decent upgrade path from carhartt for a decent price. Now you're boy is steezing w cordura and technical pieces and lookin fly as hell x

my wardrobe was a clusterfuck but i was able to create a style using all the clothes i already had. i just looked at everything i had and picked out 3 - 5 pieces from each category that all went together, a capsule wardrobe of sorts, and that became the basis for my style. so def look within what you already have to find your essentials!

Great vid and stay safe🙏

Color is most certainly objective! Please do a video on Color Theory! The Junya Watanabe outfit you showed has white bright yellow, and green camo. The green and the yellow are next to each other on the color wheel, so they inherently look good color blocked. Etc etc

Hello. I'm looking for a specific video of the channel where REGGIE also talks about silhouette, lifestyle and blocking but he takes the example of two styles with different iterations depending on the formal/casual and climate parameters. I've gone through several videos but I failed to find it until now. I've seen the video a year from now but I can't manage to find it again. Could you please help me. Thanks. P.S: I love the channel and REGGIE's energy (even though he's always baiting us with the same canvases as titles [making it damn had to find a specific video])

Really great video, the whole philosophy approach is really smart. Quick question, how do you differentiate fashion genres or styles? Like I can pick out tech wear from grunge, but americana from skate is a lot trickier.

HELP! Ive lost my drive for fashion. im curious what everyone's motivation is for fashion. I completely understand entertainers and people in the industry, but for normal people im curious what the motivations are. Ive always been into fashion since i was 7 and was super into all throughout school and college. People generally cared about fashion where i went to school, so it was fairly important and people had all kinds of unique styles and silhouettes (we had greasers!!!). It felt like a large community. Since then, ive moved to a lesser "hip" area and realized that people dont give a shit what you are wearing. I haven't purchased an article of clothing in 3 years. I feel like unless you live in LA, NYC japan or somewhere that cares, then it's pointless. I still want 100000 articles of clothing i come across but its not worth the 500 dollars to me if no one cares. maybe i have a shallow reason for loving fashion, but im curious about other people's motives for caring about fashion.

My passion for style has nothing to do with anyone else - we get very little choices in this life so being able to Express myself visually however I want through what I wear is a privilege. I grew up thrifting & it sparks so much joy for me to pick up quality vintage (& often designer) items for less than $10 😍👌 to me it's not necessarily how clothes look that inspires me, its how the clothes make me 'feel'. In a day and age where depression & anxiety is heightened, I see clothes as a suit of armour to positively influence my mood the same way art, music, culture or sport does. On days where I want to feel calm & comforted I throw on a silk shirt, kimono or cashmere sweater which feels like butter... if I feel the need to transform my attitude into a badass I'll reach for my trench coat/leather jacket, some chunky boots & a cool pair of sunnies then I feel ready to take on the world lol so my suggestion is to embrace & enjoy your personal style because its unique to YOU 🤩👑💃
@CAxALLDAY3 жыл бұрын
@@hotdot10 we thrifted alot growing up as well but not sure it was out of pure intentions. we were just looking for cool shit that no one else could get, sort of a snotty LA thing, although you would get hella compliments so you felt great. i guess in a way that was programming me to think a certain way bout clothes. Are you an artist? Are you able to dress cool at work? I work in medicine, which is a little more conservative i would say depending on location. A doc in japanese clothes in LA is cool, trendy, would trust with body. A doc in japanese clothes in dc is not cool, weird, would not trust. sometimes if you see someone in what you perceive as strange clothing, you question their judgement in all aspects. Im curious to know people's opinion on this too haha. You seem to have the right reasons for fuckn with clothes. I'll try and take that attitude moving forward!
