I wanted to use a curve for this eaxct thing but opted out of it because i didnt know i could make a 90 degree angle, ive learned early that curves are amazing, and this just makes them even better

Thanks so much for this. I'm wanting to model a fire escape, and this is exactly what I needed!

this is a good trick, and i use it to do these roads sometimes (and for some reason it never occurred to me to turn a mesh into a curve) overall though, i think you spend more time messing with this, what i'd rather do is create a fence segment, perhaps half the width of that first bit.... then make multiple instances of this fence bit .... it always seems to come back to this for fences for me

Probably depends on the fence that you're trying to create as well - some are worth it, some aren't

There's an add-on called "fence maker". Really worth a shot.

Gonna have to give it a try!

First I want to say that I am very pleased about your tutorials, they are always very comprehensive. My question to this one: If I used a 3D curve as a path for guardrails along a track and I widen the radius in the corners to widen the track there , the guardrails get also "bigger". Is there a setting for them to just "follow" the wider radius without "growing" in dimensions?

I think I talked about this about 3/4 of the way through the video - go into the curve settings and click the box for “2D” instead of “3D” and it should remove warping at corners

Awesome!

I'm assuming you can do this process to other geometry things? Or is this essentially just a quicker way for railings only?

Yep

I really do appreciate the time and effort you put in your tutorials, however the problem is that you only giving concepts without actually going deep into details. My advise is to take your time and make a complete project for any specific scene or to model a specific object, Lets say a living room in a condo or a text intro with motion graphics or anything has a professional grade output then show all the steps you did to get there. Give it a thought (You already spending the time and the effort so you just need the output to be more detailed) Thank you.

While I appreciate you taking the time to give me advice, I think I’m gonna stick with my style and tutorial type. There are plenty of guys out there doing long-form, project based tutorials, but it’s just not really my jam. Thanks though

Hey justin hi, remember me? Hey i want to learn blender but didn't know how to start.. I find it tough to learn.. Tell me how can i make my journey of learning blender easy..

Well start just like you would anything else - find some beginner tutorials to learn the basics, then just start picking up new skills bit by bit depending on what you want to do. Practice will be important here
