i agree with squash6497. if there's anything even slightly "rebellious" that you're into, run with that. tattoos, loud jewelry, unconventional piercings, combat boots, wild makeup, graphic tees, loud or mismatched patterns/colors, even the way you talk or act. you don't have to change your style (i love skirts and "traditional" clothing too!), just add some elements that normally clash with their personas.

Lol, didn't think this would get any attention, thank you. :) Fwiw, I do dress as I want. I kinda wish I wanted piercings or tattoos, but they're not really my thing. I used to dye my hair burgundy and loved it, but it's a lot of time and money when your hair is really long. Mostly the annoyances are things like 1. people who assume I'm conservative and then literally get angry when they find out I'm a nerd with a life of my own (f 'em) 2. on social media, I'll find someone new to follow about vintage clothing or long hair care or traditional crafts, and then I'll get, like, three videos in and find out they're anti-vax, think public school is the spawn of Satan, are against all "chemicals," whatever I've also noticed some people I've followed for years now have short, punky hair and are doing an 80s thing. I wonder if they've felt similar pressure.

3:28 The implication that someone who is (presumably) a Christian thinks it's more important for women to be obedient to their husbands than to be firm in their belief is wild to me. How do you misunderstand Christianity that badly?
@TheRealAmadeusMozart Жыл бұрын
As a Christian, it's really funny because the verse they're talking about actually states that married couples need to depend on each other while putting all of their faith in God. The women submitting part is still there, but it's also explicitly stated that men have to submit to God in return and must be ready to do everything for his wife and she will do the same for him. The verse evokes a sense of mutualism and teamwork in marriage where both parties play equal parts in it. It's a huge shame that these "Christians" purposefully twist the message into something sexist and disgusting.

Instagram couples feel so…off, tbh. I’m not against trad wives, I think it’s great and cute that someone would put so much effort into building a family and has so much respect for her husband. The problem starts when the problematic trad wives start manifesting their “submissiveness” and forcing it onto others. I have long wavy hair that I put ribbons into, a baby face, and very feminine appearance + clothing, however, I swear like a sailor and have a personality that’s probably the farthest thing from “poised, cooperative, and soft-spoken”. I’ve literally had people tell me to my face my personality doesn’t match my face lmfao. Im scared people are gonna start thinking I’m like these people like btch tf is going on on insta 💀 Im religious, I think I’m feminine enough. You can’t change personality. If these “alpha male sigma gigachad” men think that women are slaves, go find yourself a woman that can tolerate being your little maid because I ain’t one of them. I live within a somewhat lax family. My mother was a clerk (she's retired now because of her health) and my dad is a contractor. We're still what people may consider a "Traditional Family". All of my family are religious, including me. And back when I was a baby, even when my mom dropped me (and my little sister when she came to age) to a Kindergarten when she worked at the day, she still believe the "I have the obligation to care for my children" mindset... And my dad also still has that "I need to be the family's breadwinner". But that convention can be easily broken. When my mom got overtime, my dad makes breakfast and took me to Kindergarten while my mom has an extra rest for the day. When my dad has some slow months, My mom chipped in more for the groceries and bills. Not ONCE they went bananas because my mother isn't "A Tradwife" nor my dad "Isn't paying the bills". We just... Supported each other... Being reasonable and supportive to your family and not clinging to vague and frankly bollocks Societal Constraints??? Gee, what a novel concept!

@@anaclarabatista1804the main concern in those situations is that the parents even have the capacity to care for that many children. After a point, they physically do not have enough energy to give every child the attention and guidance they need, which ends up "parentifying" the elder siblings, which can have lifelong damaging effects. Psychological issues aside, there's also the concern of having enough money to make sure all their needs are met. I once knew a girl who was from a quiverfull family that lived in an RV. Went to stay with them for a week and the conditions they had to put up with were rough. None of the children had space to themselves or room to run around, among other issues I won't get into. The point, of course, is that any lifestyle that makes you happy is valid as long as you don't hurt yourself or others. In the case of having a lot of children, there's a case to be made that it hurts the children via neglect. It's very tiring to see children so often regarded as the property of their parents to do with as they please.
