So glad you reacted to Dan - he is amazing. He took lessons, then taught for a while. He's being doing KZbin videos for over a decade and you can see how he's progressed as you go through them. He worked really hard to get so good. He explained in one of his early videos that he sings each song a minimum of 3 times for different camera angles then uses the best vocal track and does his own mixing and background vocals. His dad gave him a harmonica when Dan was 7 (his dad passed away 6 years ago from cancer). Dan puts his heart and soul into every performance and as you've seen, has incredible control - everything he does is with intention and purpose. He does a variety of styles - all good... Highly recommend his Gethsemane - a truly amazing performance - best I've ever seen/heard by far for that song and I've seen many. Check out: Bring Me to Life, Burn Butcher Burn, I'll Make a Man Out of You, Handel's Messiah - he sings ALL the parts, Bohemian Rhapsody, Nessun Dorma, so many more. He's so entertaining and passionate in his performances, and even works in humor in some of them. Loved how much you enjoyed his performance I subscribed. Please do more Dan Vasc!! Thank you!

I had avoided "reaction videos" for a long time because, well, mostly, who cares what other people think about someone's performance? Similarly, as a Director of musical theatre I don't read critics reviews because I didn't''t stage it for them and I don't care what they think! BUT I stumbled upon your reaction to our (Australia's!) John Farnham singing "Help" by the Beatles and you had me at the first pause where, rather than just say "Wow that was amazing" you demonstrated a clear understanding of "performance" AND went on to articulate an astounding knowledge of the voice and singing. Your reactions are also so delightfully honest and joyous and I've now subscribed and watched so many. Thanks for introducing me to Voiceplay and Geoff Castelucci btw (practicing my subharmonics daily thanks to Geoff!) then one day I came across Dan Vasc singing "Amazing Grace" and thought I must suggest this as a reaction for Elizabeth. Aunt Sharon has beaten me to it! (I'm old and a bit slow these days!) So delighted your reactions were so similar to my own. He is amazing and his rendition of Gethsemane (as a musical theatre person who coveted the role of Jesus but had to "settle" for Judas (poor me! ;) I LOOOOOVE that song) is equally brilliant even if it's not so original in interpretation as his "Amazing Grace". You are a beautifully positive person with amazing depth in your knowledge and a wonderful way of articulating some highly technical "stuff" in a way that both people like me (trained as an opera singer but sold my soul to the corporate devil :| .......) and your average lover of music can appreciate and gain from. Long way of saying "Love your work!" ;)

The man has been taking classes since he was in his late teens, he wanted all the skills to push his innate talent to the limit. Hint to other singers, study, study, practice, practice, get the training, take the talent God gave you as far as it can go! Dan is not only a great singer he is a great role model for pursuing your dreams! I'm sure he'd be up for an interview. Thanks for shining a light on Dan. I love his juxtaposition of style and genera. He does it seamlessly, and while he is certainly showing off his chops, he never fails to serve the song. Thanks also for the way that you approach all of these reactions. Your academic prowess and analysis combined with your honest and sometimes even visceral reaction to the broad range of talent you present on your channel makes you the most interesting and educational "reaction channel" on KZbin. Cheers!

Elizabeth, I also love his rendition of “Angels We Have Heard on High”. I listen to it every day. His An American Trilogy “ and “ Hallelujah Chorus “ are outstanding also. Aunt Sharon

What an awesome analysis! It's so fun to actually 'learn' about what is going on with Dan's delivery of this beautiful hymn. It makes me appreciate even more how beautifully he sings and uses his voice, which he has worked on for many years, to bring music to the world. He's a delight to listen to.

I love seeing Elizabeth geeking out, you can truly tell how much she loves singing and all the techniques behind. And her knowledge is truly vast and impressive. Has to be one of the best vocal coaches out there for sure.

Excellent reaction! Dan can sing absolutely anything! I've been listening to him since 9/15/20, when I first heard him do The Sound of Silence. Please🙏 do more reactions to his music, any of his music. It's all great!

The first few moments… your face expressed so much. I couldn’t help but smile with you. I found myself just absorbing your every word and expression in delight, for myself and for Dan. He is so deserving of every accolade for this unparalleled and powerfully delivered rendition of this beloved hymn. I have listened to countless reactions but never one so ecstatically detailed as yours! My mission was total completion as I found such joy in your reaction, thank you! Had to sub. 😊❤

Wonderful review of a great performance. As a child of the 60's and 70's I've listened to and enjoyed music all my life but have never bothered with things like technique and range, if I liked it I listened to it. Since engaging with this channel it's opened up a completely new avenue of listening and appreciating music and while I'm glad there's still an appreciation for the original metal bands, I'm experiencing bands and singers that I probably wouldn't be exposed to otherwise. Thank you Elizabeth.

A guy on my FB group shared the original video, so I watched it. I was about to comment saying this would be great for The Charismatic Voice, but then KZbin suggestions showed this video, and I was like, "Oh she already has". Love this. PS, about 40 minutes ago I had never heard of Dan Vasc. Don't you love the internet.
