A few points of interest: 21:43 - Gunship (Dark All Day) - The original sax player from Gunship's "Dark All Day" (Tim Capello) reprises his role from the film The Lost Boys (1987) in the official music video (which is great). Sadly, sax isn't usually part of Gunship's style. Tim featured in only that one song as far as I know. 21:57 - DOOM Soundtrack Music - The music from the original 1993 game featured riffs from many popular heavy metal bands of the time, including Metallica. For the 2016 game, Mick Gordon sought to modernize many of the original game's songs for the newer game. So there's an interesting multiple feedback loop thing going on. Metallica (this particular song, Master of Puppets), was reinterpreted in 1993... then that was modernized for 2016. And now reimagined for this video. Metallica to the power of three, I guess you could say. FOUR if you include the original song (from 1986) the 1993 DOOM game copied from. 26:28 - Megadeth - Dave Mustaine WAS IN Metallica at one point. They had a falling out. 26:35 - Blue Oyster Cult (Don't Fear the Reaper) - Google "more cowbell". Hilarious if you're a fan of Christopher Walken.

Dir En Grey is a Japanese Avant-Garde Metal band that have a veeery interesting music style. Dir en grey are a japanese Band, they've been active since 1997 and their vocalist Kyo is pretty well known for being a very versatile singer. He does very high notes, low notes, shrieks, growls... He's very creative and skilled. He's had some issues with his voice before, since he's selftaught and the band was on a short hiatus roughly 12 or 13 years ago because he had vocal cord nodules. I think he's had some sort of treatment for them but didn't get surgery? Either way, ever since then it hasn't negatively affected his crazy stylistic shifts in DEGs songs at all. The band changed a lot over the years, the picture Anthony Vincent put on screen for example is a VERY old one, lol. If you want to check them out, I've seen someone else recommend "Vinushka" already and that is definitely a good song and showcases what this band does best: long, epic and gutwrenching(in that vein I also recommend my favorite Song of all time "Diabolos" and "The World of Mercy". Especially live performances). Some other songs I'd recommend: "Inconvenient Ideal" (a heartbreakingly beautiful ballad) and their cover of japanese Punk Band The Stalin's "Warsaw no gensou". It's just... incredible. Lots of vocal variety in that one and it's insanely heavy. It's also very fun to check out the original song and compare how much Dir en grey changed it with their cover. I would be veeery interested to hear your thoughts on Dir en grey.

Highly recommend digging into Kyo if you want a vocal chameleon! You've got gutterals, pig squeals, croons, operatic runs, belts, falsetto, vibrato...sometimes all in one song! The fact DEG have been a mainstay since '97 is highly impressive (with the same lineup no less!), but what's even more impressive is Kyo's active in 3 bands: Dir En Grey, sukekiyo, and Petit Brabancon. I think if this man isn't creating he will implode and cause the sudden heat death of the universe. There's so much to dig into. Vinushka, Rinkaku, Obscure, The World of Mercy, Ranunculus, The Final, Magayasou, Decayed Crow, Dozing Green, Hageshima, Ware Yami Tote, Conceived Sorrow. So much material just from DEG alone!

If you do go back to Anthony, there are equally as impressive - if not more so - similar videos on his channel. Bohemian Rhapsody, Rap God by Eminem (I think that’s my personal favourite), “One Guy 20 Voices” where he tries to replicate the original recordings of different artists over multiple genres and he also does challenge type videos where he’ll try to nail the “hardest vocals” in songs, which are mostly metal screams. He may be one of the most under-appreciated artists on KZbin so it makes me happy to see him here.

Sully Erna - 7 years. Sully is from the band Godsmack. This was part of his solo projects. Sully is by far the most underrated and unappreciated musical artist today. He oozes talent and not enough people see it and it’s sad. He’s not just vocals, he plays multiple instruments. I saw Godsmack when they toured with System of a Down. This song has everything you’d ever want in a song. Guitars solos, bongos, keyboards, even a Cello solo!!! The style and Rhythm of Sully is absolutely astonishing. He plays with such passion and conviction. Please please please. As a musician yourself, You need to review this song. I promise you will not be disappointed….

Dir en Grey is a metal band from Japan. And they are INCREDIBLE. I HIGHLY recommend looking up their stuff. Their lead singer Kyo has one of the most insane ranges I have EVER seen. I suggest listening to something first like hageshisa to kono mune no naka de karamitsuita shakunetsu no yami and then Zakuro (specifically look up DIR EN GREY - ザクロ [eng sub] LIVE HD and it'll bring up the best version of the song I've ever heard.) The drastic differences in the songs (and what he does with them)...it's unbelievable. Edit: Kyo is pretty much like the Mike Patton of Japan, when it comes to range and incredible singing.

Recommendation: Red Handed Denial - “Father Said” (Lauren Babic live one take performance) Much more recent version of Lauren who can sing beautifully and scream with the best of them. The lyrics are very personal to her too and is worth listening for both her voice and the story.

The Misfits are a punk band that write songs about horror movies and themes. They've had a couple of singers. You might like Saturday Night by them. Has some great vocals and harmonies. Anthony is amazing. Ever since I saw him do Katie Perry in the style of Type O Negative, I've been hooked.

Anthony Vincent and Denis Pauna doing Lana del Rey's Summertime Sadness in the style of Type O Negative is just fantastic. I actually teared up the first time I heard it because Denis's singing voice is so close to Peter Steele's it actually sounded like Peter singing new material. It's such an obvious labor of love and they roll through every Type O style. Their vocal harmonies are just gorgeous.

I think he said 50 styles, because the original doesn’t count. This was really interesting. My favourite one was the Linkin Park rendition. Very spot on and I would love to hear a full version is of that one.

Finally Anthony finds his way to this channel. I hope it won't be the last amazing reaction video from my favorite reactors on this platform. His discography has grown immensely in all the years of him being here on KZbin. Starting with his ten second songs and finally transitioning into the singer/artist Vincent has left us with a plethora of songs, medleys and covers ripe to be experienced. My favorite original is "Swimming through Air" by Silent Knife (his band). It is worth a listen.

The Pentatonix one was for sure their Bohemian Rhapsody cover - Mitch's megaphone version of Brian May's solo was in just that style. I've followed Anthony's channel since long before he changed it to his name - it used to be called Ten Second Songs (hence why he signed off as "Ten"). He's been making these crazy high-quality videos for years, and it's always a pleasure to watch a new one! I think my favourite one he's done was Eminem's Rap God in 40 styles, just because it highlighted what an excellent impressionist he is - a lot of the styles are different rappers, who he manages to make distinct from each other despite the backing tracks being stylistically very similar. Also, his choices for which parts of the lyrics to perform as each artist show his great sense of humour!

You should check out Anthony's cover of Audioslave's "Like a Stone". The amount of emotion he puts into this is phenomenal. It's the best cover of this song I've heard. I'm sure Chris would have approved. I'm going to watch it again right now!

When you vote for a favorite style, he goes back and does the entire song in that style. You should check some of those out as well. I imitate a lot of different vocal styles, including several metal screams. I do live in Tucson, if you ever want to talk about how to achieve certain vocals.

You should definitely do an analysis on Dir En Grey, Kyo's voice is beautiful and the sounds he's able to produce are quite unique. It's really hard to pick a song out of their huge catalog, but Vinushka live would be a pretty good introduction. Vinushka at ANDROGYNOUS or at THE LAST DAYS OF STUDIO COAST are incredible examples.
