I recently saw a blind person hanging a painting and she rested a marble on the top of the frame, adjusting according to how/where the marble rolled.

That is a brilliant idea for a challenged person. As a decorator that hook is not big enough to hold that size painting. Especially one so precious. You need two. Wire and cable break. For the everyone else in ll share my trick: Buy a small level. I always have mine in my bag. Buy blue tack, that stuff you use for kids pictures and teens posters. Attach the tacky to the corner Bumpons, 3M owns that word, and when level press to wall. It won’t move.

Stephanie, I had a horrible experience as a interior designer when a mirror was hung on one hook, as your father's painting has been hung. You need two of those hooks, especially with plaster!!!!! if it falls it might damage the frame. Just advice, two hooks are better!

A beautiful orange sunset for King's Day! Vis-à-vis picture hanging: In a lifetime of hanging pictures (I'm a painter), I've found it's best not to stress over hanging things straight - Yes, worry about centering or off-setting on the wall, but don't worry about keeping pictures straight, because someone slamming tbe door, a noisy dance party upstairs, or the cat walking across the floor is enough to jostle loose the most carefully balanced picture.

I used to be a picture framer, and a good trick especially for a large painting, both for extra support (to take the weight) and to keep it level, is to use two picture hooks in the wall. For the larger painting of your fathers I would suggest two hooks at a 2ft distance from one-another x

@@rachelcrawford1977 Depending on the dimensions of the picture frame, you can use mirror plates screwed each side of a small frame (at mid height of frame), and two at the top & bottom on a larger frame, then screw the exposed 'tongue' of the plates to the wall (electric drill & wallplugs needed). You can disguise the 'tongue' of the mirror plate by painting to tone in with the wall colour. If your son's handy with a screwdriver you'll need to use perma-screws (not sure of correct name)...they only screw clockwise so can't be undone. Good luck!

Selmar loves his camper and what better spot than by the woods.. it also frees up space for tradesmen's vans now that work on the Chateau is in full swing.
