Preserving and restoring old buildings is so important to our history and appreciating why & what we have in life. I’m so happy to see you working so hard to save Lalande’s chapel, as well as showcasing this beautiful 1000 year old church. It broke my heart recently to see the old church demolished near the Petherick’s chateau. When you see the huge costs that custodians are up against, you can see why so many give up instead of trying to save these architectural gems like you are. Thank you!

Ok, this might be controversial... But since the diningroom is now in the old entrance hall, then I think it would be appropriate to also move the gorgeous chandelier from Anders in there. Imagine all those crystals, sparkling in the new diningroom 😁 The olivegreen one, that is there now, is beautiful. But it is just way too small for the rooms new function... And actually, the other one is too big for the red room, since it is no longer above a dining table... I know, that the olivegreen one was bought for that room, but I am sure it will fit perfectly somewhere else 😊

I'm religious and have loved Notre Dame since I was a child and watched The Hunchback of Notre Dame ...and then the Disney version which I watched with my daughter when she was a child. I was raised Catholic, studied Buddhism and Hinduism, and that enriches my Christianity. The overlays of centuries of multiple religious devotions on the island of Java, where I spent part of my youth, made me aware there is so much reverence for ancient temples, pagodas, and stupas that are so in need of preservation and repair ...it is the provenance of humanity! I am thrilled Notre Dame is being restored to (almost) its former glory and the great catastrophe is being rectified! Bravo to Stephanie for valuing the history of La Lande's Chapel and its original paintings. I wonder if she has original photos of the chapel before those paintings were lost. Will she try to restore even the lost paintings and motifs? I know an incredible Romanian painter who studied in Italy and France, who paints Christian Saints and Angels, Eastern Buddhas, and Greek and Roman gods and goddesses. His name is Marius Michael-George.

The restored chapel of St.Joseph got me all choked up. Cannot imagine the emotional effect of the restored Lalande chapel. So happy you are restoring your chapel. Wouldn't it be nice of communities would have committees or a person who monitored and maintained their chapels? Perhaps fewer would be lost. Here in the US I have also seen many churches where the original beautiful painting was painted over. So sad... You are bringing worldwide awareness to this so...Thank you1

The chapel was amazing and what struck me was when Stephanie said the second restoration was more simple then the fist she showed us and I looked at the paintings and could not imagine what had to be done to restore the more simple of rooms. Fascinating and wonderful to see it being restored and exciting that Leland’s chapel will also. Would you be able to share the music/chants selection you played? It was very healing to me.

I have to agree. I enjoy these weather updates. You just keep giving them. We will enjoy them and your expressions. They make me laugh, but that's a good thing that's medicine for the bones. I'm glad to see that after a long stent that the time is coming with this wonderful restoration of this beautiful chapel. As with all that is taking place with laland, it is a wonderful thing. There are many people reaching out, touching lives and touching all that live with you and that beautiful home of yours. It will reach restoration that you already know. Nothing is ever complete when you live in a chateau, but we do know that you and the others are the keepers and many people will enjoy it for many years to come. Glory to god. A patron stated that after the structural issues are paid for (including the painting of St. Joseph) and the restoration of the rest of the chapel begins there will be more fund raising, just for the decorative aspects of the chapel. I have seen restorations that couldn't be 100% because frescoes are delicate. Decisions may need to be made at that time. ❤
