I play the Charlick and it's great fun. Looking forward to getting your course on it, to improve my win rate with it. Wish it was coming out before Christmas as it would make perfect present.
@TheChessGiant28 күн бұрын
That's great you're having fun with it! Same here. And ya I wish we could release it earlier, but Chessable has us on a list of courses (they they release periodically) so it won't release for awhile

The Charlick has been my default reply to d4 for the last 18 months or so. I love it... great fun. It works great at beginner-intermediate levels.

Almost impossible to get anyone over 1800 to accept this gambit

Yeah but like u saw the 2600 did it accept yet he got a nice position as black
@TheChessGiant28 күн бұрын
Hmm ya I'm not so sure. 2500+ players accept it against me all of the time... but I am also playing bullet alot so it might depend on time control some
@BobbyFischer000028 күн бұрын
@@TheChessGiant yeah, bullet I can see it being accepted way more that 3+2. Cheers

CG, CONGRATS on the upcoming chessable course. You were meant to be a giant on chessable.

Chess giant, great job setting up these games. I think you're good at setting people up and creating threats. Let me ask you, can you give me your advice on setting people up? In my games, i find it hard to set people up. At my local club, the guys always say I fell for a set up or say "you were set up" and I feel dumb. I want to set them up back. How do you lay traps and set people up in your games?
@KingPanda-lp5irАй бұрын
Calculation making if they do a fairly obvious move they blunder
@TheChessGiant28 күн бұрын
Hey! So honestly I personally don't agree with the term "set up" - this makes it sound like you are trying to trick your opponent and just hope they don't see your trick. Really what chess is about is learning how to keep improving your pieces, keep adding pressure, keep targeting weaknesses, etc. Really what your coach means is that chess is tactics. Focus on tactics a TON and this will help you a TON. Here's a video on how I work on tactics and other important areas... kzbin.info/www/bejne/fWTPm6SwmMd5iMUsi=sM8U6lVKXwaWFduy

@@TheChessGiant Thank you man! I really appreciate it. I asked him exactly what he meant and you are right. He said "tactics which can lead to you setting people up in your games" and so I need to work on spotting tactics. It can be extremely hard to see tactics during games.
