I love how quickly she gets right to her process without excess talking. I stopped eating pugs, cows, dairy , and vegetable oil 50 yrs ago. I'm 73 now with no health challenges. Don't let anyone tell you that taking good care of yourself when yr young, won't pay off wonderfully when your golden years arrive.

Fried food, flour, and sugar? Vegan is free of animal anything, but it can be just as unhealthy as foods made with meat. Mind you, you CAN make healthy vegan food (just as you can make healthy carnivore food), but flour, sugar, and frying, ain’t it.

I made the greens, mac n cheese, cornbread and "fried chicken" and it was delicious! I used both oyster mushrooms and portobello caps. The oyster mushrooms were better, but both were good. The cornbread was excellent! The mac n cheese sauce was great. This was my first time making a vegan meal and I was so shocked that it was flavorful and great. Will be making this again.

From watching your videos was a learning experience for me. Thank you for posting them. I made the garlic mashed potato and it was very delicious. The Buttermilk cornbread, I used homemade almost milk. It was good but alittle dry. Is there anything to add to keep the cornbread moistened? I made the Vegan Mac N Cheese was good but alittle dry. The Vegan Fried Chik'n was very good and delicious to the crunch.

I tried making the vegan fried chik'n tonight and it was delicious! I threw my own little spices in there, but used the same technic. I ate all of it! It was very comforting. I am trying to work on whatever I am making my family for dinner, creating the same thing just vegan. I also tried the chick peas scramble because I don't care for tofu. So good! Super easy to make, but so good. I am so glad I found your channel.

I never would have thought to replace chicken with Portobello mushrooms, as I always heard that people will replace beef with Portobello. I'm late to the party. I just ordered your cookbook (as an eBook, since the hard cover is sold out)! I didn't know that you had a cookbook. I'm making the cornbread and mac and cheese TODAY, to go with some steamed broccoli and a big salad. The rest I will save for another day.

Instead of cutting the gills, you should take a spoon to the inside before you cut them up. It makes a little less food waste😭😭

Hey, I just made your chicken recipe using the portabellos. My only complaint is that I didn't by a lot more mushrooms!!!!! My gosh, this was AMAZING! I haven't eaten fried food in over a year but couldn't pass this up. Have you ever cooked these in an air fryer?? I will DEFINITELY be making more of your recipes. God bless you and thanks so much

Me too so I use cauliflower for my fried chicken or tofu that’s been frozen twice, thawed and drained (if you don’t mind soy)

I have no words at this very moment. My sweetheart and I are slowly moving toward a vegan lifestyle so I have been researching recipes. My only concern is WE love soul food. OMG! We get to enjoy soul food and it still has flavor. I can't wait to try these recipes. Thank you so much for helping us and showing that we can still eat vegan and not be deprived of what we love the most.

You can make your your own vegan honey butter. By the way, I will use high quality butter to make desserts for my guest, and I eat a bit of them as well. I usually eat vegan desserts, however. In addition, I also thoroughly wash all grunts and veggies.

Looks amazing! Vinegar, salt, and baking soda soak for the greens and any produce is my go-to cleaner (Mississippi).
