This is a prime reason why celebs should never do / usually never do fan interviews. Fans almost never will have good questions and when it comes to sopranos fans, they just want to repeat their favorite lines. An actor would look at it as a job and the interview process as part of that job. They aren't exactly thrilled about quoting their job back and forward instead of doing things that further their career. If you want to do interivews, don't do it as a fan. Do it as an interviewer.

Joe was nobody's favorite cast member. He was initially hired to play "Gino" in a single episode; but he hounded the producers with countless calls begging them for either more episodes as "Gino" or a different character. Alas, "Vito Spatafore" was created. He then started stepping on toes and demanding more screen time. David Chase recommended turning the character gay to give him more of an arc. He specifically did this because he expected Joe to turn it down due to being a proud Brooklyn Italian who grew up around gangsters; but Joe went with it, and told the media that turning the character gay was his idea. He also pretty much replaced Tony as the main character of the show for most of season 6 part I. That's why they hate him so much.

The “ok terrific” comment proved they were Opie & Anthony fanboys. When was this interview because it sounded like something from 2006.

It sounded like they spent zero time preparing for this interview. The questions were off the top of their head. They confused his character with a different character on the show. They spent half the interview apologizing. The actor felt completely disrespected by them. Many of their questions ranged from dumb to insulting. If it was Howard Stern being interviewed I don't think he would have lasted as long as this actor did.
