Idk if its mentioned but the citizens lose happiness per plantations because slavery happened on plantations typically (obviously in other places but cotton plantations and all that) and since he frees the slaves (spoilers) his citizens aren't happy to have plantations because someone's gotta harvest it. That's my assumption at least, my history is real fuzzy

I think this is pretty good. North didn’t want slave labour and plantations ran using slave labour. I would like a free casus belli whenever I meet a player with a plantation now 😅

The -2 loyalty from plantations is a reference to Lincoln abolishing slavery

Maybe they could have removed the minus 2 loyalty when you discover combustion to make better farm equipment that doesn’t complain.

Plantations with abe are bad because back then most Plantations were slave plantations. Abe abolished slavery, therefore making plantations bad for abe because it goes against what he was about
