My son and I have just watched this video and realised it was ours. He was excited to see it fixed. Thank you. It had been to a local console repair, who said it was an unfixable apu fault. The probable reason for it not being put back together properly is he was expecting us not to want it back 🤔. We are now looking forward to getting it back in a working condition 😀. It sat in front of the TV for a year before I plucked up the courage to send it in for a second opinion. So glad I did 😅

Slims are weird, I had one ages ago pulsing blod. Left it on over night, came back next day rebooted and been fine ever since. Sold it to a mate :D

There is no normal cause. It can be hundreds of different reasons. You will need to fault find it and go through the steps to get to the bottom of it

So im currently experiencing the blue light of death, but in my case the ps4 actually turns on, it just doesn't display anything and the blue light keeps blinking. A lot of people have recommended me to boot it up on safe mode, but i cant do that since it doesnt give me a second beep. All it does when i hold down the button is eventually turn off again. I have changed power cables and HDMI but nothing seems to work.

Could those ceramic capacitors be multilayer? They tend to go complete short - common on Xbox controllers. May be worth checking the capacitance of each one.

Hi sorry to bother you I have my grandsons ps4 . It comes on and you can play for as long as you want but when you switch it off. It come on blue light for a second then turns off. If I unplug it for a minute then plug back in it works fine? This is with using the controller to switch on or button. Could this be power pack thanks for your time a greatfull grandad Dean

Hi there buddy I seem to have almost the same problem as what this console had but mine will power up , the fan the disc drive both work but there isn’t a display on the screen & it just pulses on & off in the blue light fashion ok the only way I can get it to fully power down is to , simply un plug it from the power source I have had it apart not all the way down to the full motherboard, but I have cleaned it all out ok then I mean I did leave it on for 45 mins the last time & there was still no change at all it has been through a tough time but other than that , it lasted ages until it decided to cough & splutter then come on once but that was probs January or February last year but since then I haven’t had much luck trying to get it to work again , I don’t know how to solder or anything like that ok. Do you have an email address at all & where are they selling ps4 slim models for like £125-130 brand new other than eBay or maybe some other places?

The only difference I noticed is that you didn't have the fan plugged in first and only plugged it in mid boot sequence and the second time round you had it plugged it in from the start. Could that be it?
