Two gold beans? Did we just enter an alternate dimension where Ben gets good results? No, so many other coins had none that I know the universe is still in tact. Nice coins. Thanks for sharing!

I am 67 years old ... spent 4 years selling off my fathers small collection, got addicted to Morgans, then had to sell everything or not eat. I like these close looks at coins, you do a great job explaining the idiosyncrasies, if you just added a price #Range for the coins you show, folks like me (and there are a lot of us) would simply like to know some #Broad range price wise, it would double the interest & pleasure of watching your videos. THANKS ... I believe I heard about you from Daniels channel.

Make a mental note, Ben. Clean bright coins get gold, dirty scruffy coins get no sticker. Years ago when John was enamored with scruffy coins believing that’s what originality looks like, you would have fared better.

Hi Ben, was wondering what the cost is of sending coins to CAC?
@fatlostmedia137615 сағат бұрын
its 20$ pretty much, but you pay if the coins stickers or you also pay if the coin does not sticker.

I’m not a fan of CAC. What is a point of a company telling me if the grade that PCGS or NGC is correct. If collectors can’t trust the grade on PCGS or NGC coins then they should go out of business.
@mattmatt6572Күн бұрын
Yep... I'm don't add any value for that but most do. Guesse is why I don't have any
@TheWinstonDoubleКүн бұрын
I don't even trust the CAC stickers. I've seen some real junkers in 67 CAC sticker holders. Like I'd have a hard time giving it a 66, and they approve the 67. You can't rely on any of them. Just learn how to grade the coins you like, and buy the ones that are up to snuff for your target grade.
@sinesaiiКүн бұрын
It is more about the attractiveness of the coin. If it gets a CAC it has superior visual appeal for the grade. The solution is to pay CAC for the slab in the first place. Furthermore, you can always buy cheaper unslabbed coins. I prefer slabs because I lack the skill to grade. I trust the grade, and I know these are easier to sell. What I want to know is how to store slabs properly to prevent toning.
@samuelbaugh4952Күн бұрын
Some graders are too fussy about the number on the slab, or too obsessed with maximizing profit. Just enjoy the darn coin 😂
@charleshash4919Күн бұрын
Collectors cannot trust the attribution (particularly problematic for World Coins, Ancient Coins and Islamic Coins), so why should they trust the grade?
@ejbusby8634Күн бұрын
CAC sticker vs no sticker, obviously more valuable, but is there a certain percentage that it adds to the value? How do you decide if it’s worth the cost to send in?

Really interesting video! What is a “rattler”?
@jeffreyarbogast47352 күн бұрын
The first generation of the PCGS holder. Smaller outside construction and so-called due to the coins in some cases not being firmly held in the gasket and 'rattling' around. Holdered 1986 - 1989.
@TheWinstonDoubleКүн бұрын
It's a really crummy primitive PCGS holder. Like the first generation of slab they have. For some reason, people pay more for them. I advise against buying them, especially red copper, because they're really old plastic and over time, air can get in these slabs. Believe it or not, these aren't guaranteed to be air tight. But the new slabs have better odds of being air tight. It needs to be sonic welded absolutely perfectly or else there are micro pores in the plastic that air can get in and out of. You never really know until it's too late and your coin begins to tone in the holder.
@BluewaterBarnacle-z7l2 күн бұрын
Hi Ben, I have a PCGS holdered coin with a CAC sticker. It needs a new holder. My question is would you recommend I send it to CAC? My thought is that they would respect the grade since they stickered it! thank you!
@linneisenhower25712 күн бұрын
If you send it back to PCGS for reholdering, which retains the original cert number, CAC will typically resticker the new holder as long as the coin was not altered during the reholdering process. Has worked for me several times (I demand clean holders !)
@DJbabynoneck10 сағат бұрын
sometimes I really wonder what CAC is looking for. That $20 Lib not stickering at 62 seems odd. I mean its a 62 not 64.
