Hi Ben. There is a big difference between what I would put in the box as an investment or a collection. *>>-->* 🦉

My collection grew substantially the past five years. I didn’t have it organized until I bought a red monster box. I think it looks cool and someday I’ll fill it with tubes of silver! Until then, it has everything- slabs, bars, gold, Morgan’s, Pennie’s and more.

My monster box treasure chest is actually full of old silver type coins and my silver metal detecting finds lol oh and some large cents and flying eagle cents I've found. Interesting video 😀

This is what I was doing with that Bank of Douglas bag. I went in a different direction more in the vein of this monster box. Nice video.

I won't say a specific item or items... but I'd fill it with the coins, mostly slabbed with a few raw, that I love most because I want the person who's inheriting it all to know this is what I really loved and hopefully the coins will help them remember me!

I agree that each person would pick different things for a Monster Box. I would probably use a combination of silver, gold, platinum and palladium, plus some numismatic items, like complete sets of Walking Liberty Halves, SLQs, Buffalo nickels, Lincoln cents, and Indian cents. Then I would add complete sets of Canadian cents, 5 cent silvers, 10 cent silvers, 25 cent silvers, 50 cents, and dollar coins. To top it off I would include several thousand in exchangeable currencies of Canadian dollars, British pounds, Swiss francs and Euros.

The green monster boxes hold quite a bit. The box keeps you a bit more organized.

Yellow Canadian monsterish boxes are a little smaller, but still with my vintage silver bars 😮 they get a little soggy 😊

If all goes well I'll be leaving a nice treasure for my kids. It'll be coins I collected over the course of my life and bullion. It's fun to think about. Thanks, Ben!

You nailed it on this one. I collect for myself. I invest for my son. What *I* like isn't always a smart financial "investment." And I'm fine with that.

I would put a brick and I owe you with a key to a safe deposit box full of a mix of coins and currency. Keep the suspense as long as possible. I would try to have a coin from each decade starting I the 1770s. Currency would be large notes, educational notes,civil war, Hawaiian, and any other significant historical event.

Nothing because I don't have one.... YET!

When you buy an empty one, it gives you incentive to fill it. Preferably with tubes of silver coins. Maple leafs or American eagles are the best

The only coin that everyone is forgetting that will be worth a lot in the coming decades is some Bitcoin. I would have some bitcoin, silver, gold, platinum, and maybe a nice graded CC morgan set. Oh, and also a nice psa 10 graded pokemon set. Gotta be diversified in case gold becomes demonetized over time.

If it’s for inheritance, most inheritors don’t know, don’t care about coins or precious metals, so fill it with only a couple easily identifiable, easily saleable types of products, like 90% junk silver or 1 oz silver bars with fineness and weight clearly stamped on bar so a novice could identify them.
@kuebby13 сағат бұрын
I'd say avoid 90% in that scenario, lots of people don't know pre-65 coins are silver and would just take them to a bank. I'd say go for AGEs or Buffalos, can't mistake those and they're labeled, then 10oz or kilo silver bars.

I’ve never heard of an “electrum” coin. Can you do a video on those guys?

Ben you should do an episode of whats in the safe next, depending on who wants to know. 😮 Question from a potential coin show raffle prize winner: When would they be notified?

I recently bought an 1881s morgan in a pci slab graded MS65. I bought it because the slab still looks new, and the coin would probably grade MS63, maybe 64. I bought it to preserve the slab because a lot of them are cracked out. What's your thoughts on this?
@arte985512 сағат бұрын
This would be a good question for one of the coin forums and pictures would help out a lot.

Fill the monster box with gold, and iI can easily pick it up. It's no heavier than a box of silver.
@TheQuickSilver10116 сағат бұрын
Gold is a fair bit denser than silver (you can tell that by their atomic weight, 47 vs 79) so the same amount of gold would weigh more.
