Hey there Eric, thanks so much for this video. You really saved my bacon. Who knew a series of "9 button presses" + "5 button presses" could magically resurrect my printer from a dark, non-performing inert void unable to perform its most basic task (printing), back to its chirpy, reliable, functioning self? The "hidden menu" concealed from view and most typical consumers must be the prize of technicians who have this documented somewhere. Or perhaps, it is memorised after being heard verbally? My curiosity would have me scouring the internet to find the hidden menu, although I'm also tempted to press the "Go" button a number of times randomly to see what happens. My husband, a software developer, who watched your video at the same time I did (I asked him for help), asked me twice already if I'd thanked you. So, thanks from him as well.

Just a note, my printer doesn't ever say "Users Mode," the display remains all black, but the 9 and then 5 still worked! Thanks!

Thank you for showing me this feature and turning it off. You've saved hundreds of dollars, and I feel like I've been conned out of my money by Brother thinking the toner is low when there's actually a lot more toner in the cartridge. At $125 a cartridge it adds up and I want to use all the toner in that cartridge

Any idea on how to reset the toner on a brother HL 6210dw? I've purchased the 6200 for years and was able to reset the toner setting. I just got a 6210 though and can't get the toner reset and can't find a video anywhere :(

I picked up some printers this weekend to resell. Is there a way to test them if they are missing ink cartridges? I know they all turn on but don't want to spend a ton of money on ink. I want to have an accurate listing too. Any help/videos to point me too? Thanks

So this way is to remove the error message only or resolve the false error messages? My printer has 1700 copies printed but it alrealdy said toner low, whilst the lifetime of the toner is about 2600 copies

If the copies used a lot of toner it is possible it is sensing that it is low. What model printer do you have?

Read elsewhere that the sensor of Brother printers only count to 1,500 copies to ring the alarm about toner, only reset needed to remove the message, but I dont really understand. Nothing strange in my printed pages, no lack of ink noticed.

Could a be a "feature" that alarms the users to change it. I would Just ignore it unless it locks you out, they're also may be a way to reset it with a combination of buttons. If you Google your model number + toner reset You may find an article with the directions or a video showing exactly how to do it

@@thecollegepicker I tried. It didn't work. Even though it's a new toner cart that doesn't even produce the slightest bit of fade in a test print. I even tried cleaning the catalina wire. Still only received one wifi button flash.

My 2350DW printer-with a genuine Brother toner cartridge-with at most a few hundred pages of use (printing only text) was displaying a “Toner Low” msg in the print dialog on my iPad and on the printer’s display. I had been able to print after dismissing the msg; however, today I couldn’t get it to print at all. I tried the steps in this video, and though it still says “Toner Low” on the iPad and on the printer display, I finally was able to print. I’ll monitor the situation to see if it continues to work. Sure would like to find a document for the Users Mode section of the display.

I have the HL2360DW and it didn't work. I opened the front cover, turned off the printer, I pushed the GO button and while holding it down I pushed the ON button but the printer never turned back on. I held them both down for about then seconds but nothing happened. Let go of the GO button and then pushed the ON button. Printer turned on but still had the LOW TONER message. It flat out did not work.
