I have a deck called "Oops, All Win Conditions" that runs all of the win conditions, hence the name. Barren Glory is easily the most difficult. It might be easier if you have a deck built around it only. Chance Encounter is rough. I only won with it using Deep-Glow Skate with Mirror March. If you have a dedicated coin flip deck it should be fairly easy. Also Mechanized Production is piss easy (in 5 color). Dockside Extortionist and Smothering Tithe mean you already won by the time you play it. I didn't know that Celestial Convergence exists. I have to add that now. For Chance Encouter, you can run " Frenetic Efreet", which lets you flip a coin for 0 mana, but dies if you fail. How it works is, you basically use the ability in response to using the ability like 100 times, then flip 100 coins, since the abilities are on the stack, it doesn't matter if you fail and the creature dies. Given you flip 100 coins, you're probably gonna end up with at least 10 wins.

One I noticed wasn't on your list is Mortal Combat. It's an enchantment for 2BB that says "At the beginning of your upkeep, if your graveyard contains twenty or more creatures, you win the game." I have a U/B Phenax Self-Mill commander deck, and Mortal Combat is 1/4 possible wincons for the deck (the other three being the obvious WotS Jace, LabMan, and Thassa's Oracle). Mortal Combat is PERFECT for a Phenax Self-Mill because your mill strategy is heavily creature based. My current decklist has 39 creatures, so being able to hit 20 is more than doable. I don't necessarily think it is a difficult alt win-con, but it certainly is a fun and oft-overlooked one. Figured it was worth sharing here, at the very least.

I'll spend 1 mana to have Karn turn that land into a 0/0 artifact creature, which now dies as a state-based action. And I'll do that again for each land you have. Go ahead and draw your card for turn." Passes to next player. "Unwinding Clock untaps all my artifacts during your untap step, which is everything thanks to Mycosynth Lattice. During your upkeep, I'll turn all your lands into 0/0 artifact creatures also. Go ahead and draw for turn now." Its a great way to close out a game when you don't otherwise have enough pressure or any win-cons on board. Most people don't want to keep playing when you are the only one with lands in play. There's a much simpler Barren Glory plan if you're in Orzhov colors: have an Academy Rector out and cast Kaervek's Spite. It's still ugly, but you can do it on an end step since Spite is an Instant.
@TheStephenation4 жыл бұрын
Glad to see people are pointing this one out. I'd argue that Kaervek's Spite actually makes Barren Glory one of the relatively easier alternate win cards to pull off. There are risks to mitigate, because you're always shields-down at some point, but you can make the window of opportunity for your opponents pretty small. And with Academy Rector, they don't necessarily see it coming.

Great video! The best way to get Happily Ever After is with Planewide Celebration. It gets you the five colour citizen token/creature, can gain you life and is the sorcery. It is difficult holding onto it though, as you say, without taking an extra turn. Having Kenrith himself as your commander can help as he can pump your life up. What about Liliana’s Contract? Can be tricky to get four demons out and keep them alive! Great card though regardless as it still draws you four cards regardless of what happens.

A small detail about many of those "X counters = win" is that usually it says "put/remove a X counter. THEN you win the game". It's not WHEN you have X counters, so even if you proliferate and reach the amount required, you won't immediately win. You'll still have to trigger the condition first. Sure, it saves you a lot of trouble, but pay attention, many times you'll still have to wait a turn or trigger a strange ability.

Mechanized production is one of the easiest imo. Drop it on a treasure, food, thopter, etc. Throw down privileged position or something along those lines or counterspell silliness. In a thopter tribal deck its crazy. Also putting it on any darksteel item especially darksteel citadel provides a slow but reliable way to do it. Defending a enchantment and a indestructible land isn't to bad especially when you are getting a free extra land every turn. Alternatively throw it on a blightsteel colossus and win with the tokens (yes I know that's not the point of the video but imo the flexibility makes this card easier to put in the deck).

@@pojinx No it isnt't Here is the relevant rule: 903.4. The Commander variant uses color identity to determine what cards can be in a deck with a certain commander. The color identity of a card is the color or colors of any mana symbols in that card’s mana cost or rules text, plus any colors defined by its characteristic-defining abilities (see rule 604.3) or color indicator (see rule 204).

You sure? I'd assume his color identity, outside of being on the battlefield, is colorless.

Dr. Kuhn Switch Transguild Courier for Living End and it seems far more reasonable. Transguild can only go in a 5 colour deck.

@@FullFatMayo1 yep, you're right. Just looked it up. I initially thought that color identity was limited to Mana symbols in the text and cost.

I have a combo set up that casts Mind's Desire any amount of times to cast Release any amount of times to have everyone sacrifice everything on the board, then play Barren Glory with an empty hand and pass. Really though, I personally find it a lot more difficult to win with Azor's Elocutors than with Barren Glory. I even think that Near-Death Experience is more difficult. On the topic of Chance Encounter though, there is an old creature called Frenetic Efreet that allows you to flip infinite coins by itself due to its wording, which makes Frenetic Efreet and Chance Encounter a 2-card combo to win the game. For Happily Ever After, Planewide Celebration is a pretty good card since it gives you life as well as those 2/2 Citizen tokens which are all colors, just like the Transguild Courier.

Jokulhaups works fairly well with Barren Glory I find although you still have to figure a way to ditch your hand and make it through a turn cycle.

i built happily ever after in standard, the second requirement is actually the easiest part. Land is a given, HEA is an enchantment, so you are already at 2, There are several artifact creatures that are all colors so that is 2 more. Then you just need 2 of instant, sorcery, planeswalker, or tribal. Build lockdown while you gather up and run revenge to double your life.
