I have such awesome memories with Squall Line, My Brother and I went to a Commander Tournament were the was a 10 player game being played for money, You submitted 10 Dollars, and for every player you knock out you would get 10 Dollars, so you could effectively clean house if you were good, this Kid came by with his Heartless Hidetsugu deck, he managed to get Furnace of Rath, Heartless and Pyrohemia in play, he pulled off the combo with Furnace and Heartless killing four of us and had one mana floating for Pyro to finish the rest of us, I look over to see my brother who still had 3 green mana open, and in response to the Pyro Trigger He Squall Lined the rest of the players, he sniped this kids glory and combo from under his nose with a Squall Line. I will never forget that memory and the Store we go to play at now has Squall Line legacy.

One of my favorite x spells that I feel is underrated is uncage the menagerie, x and Green Green. Search your library for X creture cards with converted mana cost x with different names, so for 5 mana search 3 3cmc creatures.

I love biomass mutation. It's so fun. I have a plan to make an x spell focused commander deck with kruphix as the commander, and if I ever do make it biomass mutation will be in it for sure.

Kruphix can save up a ton of mana so you can cast giant x spells, zaxara is good for tokens and +1/+1 counters while kruphix makes x spells huge

A fun combo I’ve found is casting biomass mutation with X as 0 then use sudden substitution. You end up stealing an opponent’s creature along with wiping the rest of their creatures

I love Ertai's Meddling. It is a fun way around spells that can't be countered! Plus it usually makes that spell a non-issue anyway since you can plan for it

This is the one I thought of. In a counterspell war you pay 1 and U because it doesn't matter. Counters even a dovins veto. And then if it's a big threat you can delay it to get time to find a better way to deal with it and let the table prepare. Honestly it's one of my favorite counterspells and I run pretty consistently in blue

My favourite x spell has got to be jaya's immolating inferno : xredred, deal x damage to up to three targets. I have never seen anyone use it but it's bonkers imo. In decks like neheb dreadhorde champion, grand warlord radha or kyka wind's fury where you get a LOT of mana very easily it's the best finisher.

Yes, Sundial of the Infinite does let you keep the creatures from Rally the Ancestors, but it does come at the cost of losing your entire turn, so it will almost always not be worth it

I like indomitable creativity in goblins, sac a few tokens, get lords and other value goblins that ideally make more goblins

A combo i love is dance of the mance + Mirror March + other entchantments or artifacts that can copy an entchantment. They come in as creatures and the march triggers for each of them, then you might have 20+ marches for this turn, you play any creature that buffs others (like seven dwarfs) and start flipping coins

Rally the Ancestors would be fantastic in a Brago deck I think. It’s an instant, so you can play it as soon as you know Brago won’t be blocked, then flicker all the creatures you got back so they stick around

I think an underrated X card is Distorting Wake , for XUUU it's a sorcery that say return X nonland permanents to their owners hands. With enough Mana it's a Cyclonic Rift. It's also a pretty budget friendly card .

Little bonus to Biomass Mutation is that it makes X/X for BASE power and toughness. This means that +1/+1 counters, something that's somewhat common in green, will work on top of what you paid!

Immortal servitude works amazingly in shadowborn apostles, since there are some ways to get them all in your hand and then discard them. Then for 4 mana you get 20 shadowborn apostles on the field

Indomitable creativity must be a treat with containment priest! Assuming you don't want more creatures on your side at the time, of course. I personally built a creatureless deck that was about 85% 1-drops, and x spells were the biggest part of the gig. You want to know what my favorite one is? Ertai's Meddling. Prevents spells from resolving for a certain time by exiling them with counters on them.

Squall Line has been really nice in my Trostani lifegain deck. Most of the wincons can be spotted a mile away. Playing this at instant speed is really nice.

I really love wake the dead among the rarely seen X spells. One I have only seen myself play is Death Cloud. I know it breaks the social contract by messing with Lands, but being a card in my Korvold deck it is one of my best finishers.

Indomitable Creativity is fantastic. Only reason I don't run it in my Saheeli, the Gifted is because I also run Urza, Lord High Artificer so I don't want too many X spells in case I go big mana and wanna cast tons of cards. Otherwise I think the card should be immediately considered for every Saheeli, the Gifted deck: the upside is so high because of the synergy the deck has with the card it shouldn't be ignored

It may not be an X spell but one I use in my Radha tokens deck to great success is Vitalizing Wind. Nobody knows what it does and nobody ever suspects it! Muahaha. Swing in with 5 1/1 tokens and all of a sudden, before damage, it's lethal.

The main reason i don't run biomass mutation is because Return of the Wildspeaker exists. Lower mana needed for it to be useful, coupled with the option of card draw (while still an instant speed field buff) is just too good. Sure, you can run both technically, but i'd rather just run other buffs like beastmaster ascension if i'm using a go wide strategy. Biomass mutation is a very niche card in my opinion, not a card that is just good enough as a buff.
