Watching this in 2020 with them talking about a space virus

Came here because of the video in 2024 they made referencing the end of this episode talking about doing the gameplay episodes. Unreal what you guys have built since this

Seeing this older video is a great find for a fan of both of your shows. Gives us more depth into all three of your personalities. Great shows, dudes.

I keep it simple. I sort by color, and loosely alphabetize each, placed inside large BCW boxes. It's gets more precise with multicolor and Artifacts. These are sorted by number of colors and type of Artifact, respectively. The last box is lands and tokens, again sorted by color and loosely alphabetized.

Sitting and listening to this...while sorting my magic cards by set, colour, rarity... and alphabetically. I'm nuts. :P

Oh my god. What the professor said made so much sense. I have a commander deck thats probably worth atleast a few hundred dollars. But I was using the cardboard box that the preconstructed commander decks came in with. I thought that was enough, but since my deck is so expensive, it makes no sense to not pay for proper protection for my deck. Now I've ordered some KMC Hyper mats and perfect fits and bought the Ultra-Pro Satin Tower Deck box. I regularly follow Tolarian Community College and they rated those products highly. After buying them and holding them. They are indeed amazing !! Thanks guy !!

All the episodes of "Dies to Removal" are fricking awesome! I wish there were more- I think they made like 6 or 7.

Professor you are a thoughtful and intelligent man! You made so many great points. And I didn't realize until just now, but you have a really nice voice for radio. That doesn't mean you're allowed to stop making videos, though!

I’ve played a 16 player modern planeschase. Lasted 7 hours? Another burn player and I died on the same turn and (while in the glimmervoid) wiped nearly every board by dropping our entire hands before we died. The glimmervoid has the effect of coping every instant or sorcery for every eligible target. Like using a couple laser pointers in a hall of mirrors, only with lightning bolt. I’d do it again.

This episode has some incredibly useful advice on how to organize without going crazy. Archival Boxes. Never Fat Pack Boxes, insert-free or not. 1. By Set 2. By Color 3. By Rarity: Common or Uncommon 4. Binder All Rares No alphabetization! I actually suffer from acute stages of organization. My 1999-2004 stuff is separated into stand alone boxes by Color first. Then by Creature, or Enchantment, or Instant/Sorcery. Then by Mana Cost. Then from 2004 to 2014. In Fat Pack Boxes by Set. Then by Color. Then Alphabetical. Then I would sleeve multiples together in one sleeve so I could flip through them quickly. I would make binders for each set and put in alphabetical order as many cards as I had of the set, with space for the cards I hadn't collected. I have a lot of binders that need to be condensed because I'm not collecting those sets. I also suffer from the evergrowing In-Box to-be-filed syndrome, and have a large box of great cards that need to be put away. In fact, I've sunken to organizing my In-Box box into color and type, since there really is no hope of the In-Box ever being empty. Now I am kinda shoving cards by set and color into archival boxes. No binders. Rares are also organized in a couple of different ways too, mostly by era and color. If it sounds like a nightmare to you, trust me, it is. Having a huge Magic collection can be a huge pain in the ass. Looking back, I wish that I had seen this episode years and years ago, and had never gone down the path of alphabetization. The incredible ease of finding a card has never been worth having to put them back.

I'm not sure who said it, but using google glass, or something like it, during game coverage could be pretty epic (supplementing overhead view at crucial moments). It would be really interesting to see what cards the players focus on during crucial turns... Assuming they don't flick their cards obscenely.

Tolarian Community College "Things aren't made of metal and wood anymore! Cars used to be made of metal!" I know this isn't Magic related, but bear with me a second :-p It's a good thing they aren't. Since I work in Insurance, I took a trip to the Institute for Highway Safety a few years back. They wrecked an old monte carlo into a newer monte carlo at 35 miles an hour, head on impact. The old monte carlo was an absolute mess, and the driver would have gotten a steering column to the face (and likely would have lost their head) while the passenger would have been pinned. The driver of the new monte carlo? They could open the door and step out. I'm not even lying. Look at these few (crappy) pictures I took of the leftover wreckage: i.imgur.com/3Kc1lPA.jpg i.imgur.com/5oaS239.jpg i.imgur.com/eXeb7oc.jpg

Pro tip. Use proxy cards in ur binder for ur really good ones to protect from theft and damage. Then have the real ones in another binder or box in your car or at home so you can bring them after agreeing to the trade or next time you go to the lgs. It can be a slight inconvenience but 100% worth. Just make sure people thing ur not an idiot trying to scam lol. Put a note in the binder or tell them before you give it to them or both

I feel very similar about thelon of havenwood vs ghave as the professor does with the sapling of colfenor vs duran. They're both the less popular G/B commander of a tribe, where the one that most people prefer is the often more powerful abzan commander

Hey Professor! Teysa was my FIRST EDH deck ... also my favorite. Gavin Verhey even spotlighted my build (as worked on via an old Gathering Magic deck doctor column) on the mothership back in 2011 or 2010. If anyone's interested in the old build (it def. needs an update), a deck tech's on my channel

I think the mtg KZbin community could actually take some notes from the yugitubing community.. Ik i'll get hate for saying yugioh is better than magic in any way but, if someone takes a look at the stuff a lot of the yugitubers post on youtube, its a lot better than mtg. Just more indepth deck profiles, regional and tournament top decks, pack openings, and very informative stuff. Wedge and the professor are definitely close to this but we need more people doing stuff like wedge and the professor.

Gaming channels, like pewdiepie, get the children, thats why they are so popular. Modern parenting is just parking the kid in front of a tablet and walking away. Mtg channels dont really cater to toddlers and children.
