Black recently became my favorite color. Blue used to be my favorite, but black is just so much more versatile and fitting to my play style. Good video my friends.

What I like most about black is it's diversity of strategies, something I feel you guys could have touched on more. Black can support a control build, an aggro build, and anything in between. I guess that comes with versatility, but it's a great thing to consider when talking about colors. While I feel you guys do a great job making the podcast accessible to lower-budget players, I'd love to see a dedicated episode (perhaps a Deck Doctors on a $75 budget) where you talk about playing on tighter budgets than your average EDH player.

*everyone else* "but that's unfair, that's not noble!" *Black* "No one told me I couldn't. No one told him he couldn't. And most importantly, I'm still standing." This, for me, is what black is. Also, it seems to me that Blacks absolute prime, is when it's strong and enemies are weak. It might sound obvious, but black has another layer where it's good at injuring people, but great at delivering the last blow. Blood Baron of Vizkopa comes to mind for this as he's rarely bad, but gets A LOT stronger when you're already ahead by a large margin, which plays right into the power part of black's flavour. Bloodghast is a mono-black example of this.

Black _may_ be my favorite color. I just love how EVERYTHING is a resource. Your life? Resource. Your library? Resource. Graveyard? Resource? Your creatures? Your land? The cards in your hand? All of them are resources to use and abuse as you see fit. Hell, Battle For Zendikar now turns the exile zone into a freakin' resource. How long until Black can abuse the command zone as a resource?

+Butterworthy Very good stuff. Thanks for the comment!

+Butterworthy Command Zone as a resource? I mean, Black harvesting this podcast to do something seems a bit extreme, even for Black... oh who am I kidding.
@Xozzen7 жыл бұрын
You can convert the command zone as a resource into graveyard as a resource when you use xiao dun as a general lol

@Miami Mice what are you trying to say? I misread the dialect.

I know this is a really old comment but I wish each color would get its maximum potential in each set v.v example being how not every standard block/rotation has black using its library as a resource or its land in other ways than tapping it

good stuff, cant wait for the blue episode. it also gives me some ideas on how to describe colors (pros, cons, theme) to beginners. I am always just saying the basic stuff, but there is just so much more to each color then that.

I love the series. i just feel you should have touched base on supporting colorless spells that can support the color. cards to help deal with artifacts and enchantments. like Perilous Vault. helpful info if your going mono black.

Black has a Counter Spell. Dash Hope. gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=126812 Although I do think it was them deliberately breaking the colorpie to show what a black counterspell would look like.

Hey guys, as to your end question regarding the gym stuff, why not both measure weight before you get started, then at the end of 12 weeks or whatever, whoever is furthest from their original weight (positive or negative) is the winner. So if, for example, Josh is at 230, but Jimmy is at 150, Josh loses 25 pounds while Jimmy only gains 20, Josh would be the winner. Arguably Josh would have a big advantage here though.
@joshleekwai88959 жыл бұрын
+Butterworthy Yeah that's the worry. It's much easier to lose a large amount of weight than o gain it. Also I doubt Jimmy wants to gain 20lbs. More like 5-8 probably. While I would happily lose 30-35 if I could.
@Butterworthy9 жыл бұрын
Josh Lee Kwai You could always agree on a conversion to use this method. For example, 3lbs lost would equal 1lb gained. That way, if he lost 36 pounds, you'd only have to gain 13 to beat him.

Can someone explain what "Havelands" are/is? Please?
@commandcast9 жыл бұрын
+tmcdon HaveLands is the name we are championing for the new rare cycle in Battle for Zendikar. They are dual lands like Prairie Stream or Sunken Hollow that say "enters the battlefield tapped unless you control two or more basic lands." So in order to play them untapped you need to already "have lands".
