As a mixed man, living in the states, that travels state to state monthly for work...what truths do you mean? From my experience and observations, the majority of the states are incredibly racist. For many factors but mainly because it's so big and the majority of anything non white or native exists purely on the coasts and Texas. But, put of the 47 states I visit, ive been called the N word in all of them, on multiple occasions. I've walked into places to pick up food to be told "I'm not wanted". If you wanna start to begin race relations in the states, your first step is admitting that American is one of the most white supremacist nations on the earth. When you can start from there, then things can sort of get fixed. But unless white folks on mass say "our culture is theft and murder" youre not getting anywhere with dishonesty really. Half the people can see it and the problem half refuses to. The only demographic that's ever been racist towards me in the states, are white folks. So unless white folks can be real with themselves, ain't no fixing race issues as white folks are the ones benefitting yet the ones acting like shit don't exost.

In my town the BLM protesters were just protesting they weren't even yelling or anything they were just standing around downtown just holding signs. Now the city 30 minutes from my town was a different story.. looting, screaming and I was scared when i had to go to doctors appointment's because that's where my neurologist and thyroid doctor are so I got anxiety everytime they literally had to take my blood pressure 3 times at each appointment. They asked why it was like that but I said I don't know because I wasn't willing to have an argument with my doctors about that situation. Oh no I'm a racist for having anxiety scared that BLM would attack me at some point while I was there..

I think if the media would quit labeling peoples race, when they talked about a crime, it would help. Don't say a black man was killed, just a man was killed. Leave the race out of it completely. For the victim, and the perpetrator and everybody else. Leave the race out of it. People only use it when it goes to their advantage. 2 things: 1) Thank you Brett for covering this. I firmly believe it is very important. 10-15 years ago, I honestly believed racism was almost dead/extremely rare in North America. Now I can't say that. I have noticed a massive hike in racism in the past 5-6 years especially and I believe this is largely because of the media pitting race against race. I have noticed it more often that races look at each other with distrust because they believe the other is out to get them. In the words of Morgan Freeman, "How do you stop racism? Stop talking about it." 2) I absolutely hate the Trump's policy being referred to as a Muslim ban. Religious was never mentioned. It was a universal ban from certain countries. Sure, maybe it is discriminatory but every country has a right to determine who can enter its borders and who can stay there. Speaking as a Canadian, if the USA decides tomorrow that Canadians are no longer welcome to visit, I would be disappointed since I love visiting the US and have a lot of friends there but I would be fine with it since it is their prerogative to defend their country as they see fit. If they decide Canadians are a threat, so be it I would support the decision, because it is theirs to make, even if I would strongly dislike it.

Genuinely used to watch your videos and pick and choose the things I agreed with, especially regarding race. But I’m telling you now, not only did this challenge me to ACTUALLY dissect what was truly logical mainly towards media and BLM apart from my own bias but I was able to see how what you said didn’t change my values of human decency and a desire for racism to end (a good thing lol) but called out my blind belief in the things I saw. I remember like two years ago, my gifted class actually looked into the possibility of a genocide currently happening in China. I don’t remember what it was called, but we were looking at a website with satellite imagery, and other evidence of a genocide (comparing the satellite imagery to that of previous genocides, internment camps, etc.), and after looking at all the information, we all held a vote/open discussion about whether the Chinese government is telling the truth, or there’s a genocide going on, and why. Regarding the over policing statement by that one lady... the police are positioned into areas where crime is the highest. They aren't just willy nilly going into black dominated areas just for the heck of it. There's a reason for that since unfortunately those communities with the highest crime rates are typically black dominated. There's no point in putting a bunch of cops in an area where there isn't a lot of crime occurring.

Defunding the police was always a bad idea. They removed the police station where I live here in England and unsurprisingly enough there have been more mugging, stabbings, burglary’s, drug dealing and the sad thing is a lot of the crime is being carried out by kids as young as 9.

Nothing can't be fixed having been started by talks or actions, this can all fade away when you have to identify yourself being a victim or holding your victims hostage over racial differences by your political party, I tell you there would be so much peace and understanding just because no one would want other members to not trust or talk to, everything that leads to someone being violent is fueled by policies,in some places you can be attacked at the street a police station is on at that time you are just a victim and the criminal can just run for a hundred meters and you have to let him go because you didn't fight there and then you fight you are an aggressive person he was just asking for directions you would end up hearing the media say, you were right, when they say one thing again and again don't listen to the mainstream media groups

I've seen too often, and even been the victim of, someone twisting around what actually happened to make it fit a a narrative. When I confronted the person that was doing it to me, they (literally they cause they did the non-binary bs) said that it happened often enough that it was important to change what actually happened in order to make it more visible. They had no response when I asked them if it would make more sense to highlight actual instances of it if it happens so often instead of making stuff up.

Sure, there are bad cops out there, because being a cop is a position of power, and lots of assholes are drawn to positions of power. Then there's the guy who pulled me over yesterday for going 42 in a 30 zone, who was very chill and friendly, who made small talk about the video game design textbooks in my backseat, who let me off with a warning because I have a very clean driving record. The majority of cops are generally good people who just want to go home to their families at the end of the day. Defunding them, which limits the training these cops receive and minimizes the number of available officers, doesn't do anyone any good.

In Portland it has a lot to do with individuals being on drugs because they have decriminalized drug use. Going Downtown is crazy, You literally see 9 out of 10 people doing some type of drug just chilling on the sidewalk. Which then amps up the crime that happens.

Yeah, this is a problem that's not just a US thing, here in Mexico people die in Tamaulipas all the time, a teacher of mine told me she worked at a college there and one of her students was literally kidnapped, but the stuff that really got reported on was when some americans went to Tamaulipas by car and died, that was in the news cycle for so long people talked about it to the point even Elon Musk replied to it as if it was insane when that happens all the time, except it's not Americans getting kidnapped and killed so no one cares, people also just assumed Mexico's a hellhole because of that and where I live everything's pretty chill honestly I love it here.

Consequently, the police may try to protect the reputation of the force, and political parties rush to distance themselves from the shooter. If we stop judging groups based on bad actors, they may be more inclined to address internal issues rather than cover them up.

The data is concrete, no matter how much money you throw into their schools and education, it doesn't change anything. I think the latest was New Jersey. The same is true for the generational assistance programs, it doesn't benefit society. Billions upon billions of dollars thrown into a black hole, no pun intended. It's not just domestically either, we waste billions in Sub Saharan Africa as well, enabling overpopulation. Wells alone are a massive waste, over 60% of them are non functional within a year. That's insane. Why is it that everyone else all over the planet were hand digging wells in the Middle Ages but they can't manage to do it themselves in 2023? It's not a cultural or "racism" issue.
