That 555 notebook. Its a Malaysian icon. Especially back in the day. Its like a credit card. The shopkeeper/shop owner records down purchases by customers that will be paid at another time. However, that book was used for a totally different reason in this ad. It listed down profiles of people and the circumstances they are in.

Fun fact: the tiny book with 555 on the cover is popular as a bill book, where we wrote down debts owed to us. We call it "buku tiga lima" (three fives book). The daughter thought her father loaned the food but actually in the book it was all the situations the customers were going through.

This really reflect our culture a lot. That is why the Malay race was created from every race of the world except the white, simply because we take in strangers and share whatever we have. By the time when the white race master navigation skill and made to the Malay Archipelago, the Malay had embraced Islam which prevent intermarriage. No language in the world have the pronoun "I" as "your slave" (hamba), and the pronoun "you" as "my master" (tuan hamba). This of course is only use in drama or literature, but nonetheless it still reflects our culture. I grew up hating it, thinking why do we always have to make sacrifices. I have seen many people forego their bright future simply because they have to support their parent or siblings. When I came to America for study, I see how the "American dream" culture had created such affluent society. On the downside of it, I have also seen how neglected are your elderly. The Americans were pleasantly shocked when they witness my Malay habit such as washing the dishes when I got invited for dinner, giving up my bed for them and took the couch when they cannot leave due to heavy snowfall, offer to take care of my friend's parent who gotten sick, etc. I always got hugs from elderly whenever I help carrying their loads, holding them while going down the stairs or giving up the dinning table and sit at the counter for them etc. Due to this traits, many American families except me as a member of their families. A rich man had offered me the green card and a job and his personal assistant but I had to decline because, I have a larger family ties in Malaysia.
@jalaluddinahmadshaharudin11063 жыл бұрын
For me, it is not only a matter of choice between the American dream or the Malay lifestyle. In a personal way, it is between hoarding for oneself or sharing with others. I had suffered being selfless, living among selfish people. For this reason, communism is not feasible when humanity still believe in capitalism. Unless the wheat is separated from the shaft, utopia will remain as a pipe dream. But Utopia does exist in the 4D world of Shambala or Agartha. What separate us is only our frequency in vibration. Unless you learn to raise your vibration through spiritual practice like the Tibetan Monk, you will not be able to enter the portal into these realms. You will have to go through the death process and walk in the body of your parallel self that had gone through the ascension process in another time and space. This is possible because linear time does not exist in the 4D. This also depends on your beliefs and the orientation of at least 51% service to others in order to make the transition.

I’ve seen Band Of Brothers years ago.. If not mistaken it was released in 2001. It was a great mini series. I bought all 10 DVDs and still keep it. I love “Why We Fight” the most, it’s the 9th episode of the series.

The actress (Sharifah Amani) who play the daughter and the actor (Nam Ron) who play the actor are both FFM award winning actors. FFM is equivalent to the Oscars in Malaysia. They both acted together in several movies and most notably in Gubra (Anxiety) in 2006.

Let me clarify something here. We as Malaysian believe in giving. Doesn't matter how broke you are by giving you will help yourself indirectly while helping the person you are giving. There is famous guy name Ustaz Ebit Lew who go nationwide and even worldwide to spread awareness benefits in giving. He is a real life example how you give more you will get back more. Btw. If our kids is sick we believe by giving will reduce our kids pain or cure. Because when it comes back with sickness we can try but sometimes depend on prayer and luck as well. Sorry if it sound gibberish but it is what we are doing here and it works. My prayer goes to your daughter.

Beside great storyline...actors and cinematography...there's a message...in teaching of Islam...every Muslims is encourage advisable to help others even though he/she are having less...be it in terms of money... Stuffs...etc... This is because the "rizqi" (can be in money/health/children) are from Allah (the one and only God)...therefore...whatever we have we must share/give to others although it is just "half of date"...and Allah will replace back your rizqi more than you have given...for Muslims...the rewards from Allah is more important than anything else... Whether while in this world or hereafter... Which some younger generations don't understand whilst they are busy with worldly stuffs..
