Best thing a coach ever said: We play winning football (soccer). Not "we have to win." The difference: What we do, how we prepare, how we reset after mistakes, THAT will result in wins. But you cannot play result. You simply must play.

I like Carl Lewis approach to competition. He told his athletes to "Just run your race,not winning."

Do everything durring practice. Train your ass off.lush yourself be hard on yourself ect bc whin the pressures on and it's game time u actually wanna just relax so u can perform . If you have everything u had to for your practices u don't need to be intense and nervous and phyced out . Relax and don't worry it's already there . Perform now focus and relax and don't be to serious this is actually when u will perform at you're greatest .. and if u do make mistakes forget about it and move on come practice time again u can correct those issues . Great advice . As time changes diets changes the way we workout ect .. modern phycology has to advance as well this is a different approach u don't gotta be yelling and getting all crazy . RELAX

I respect your opinion, but I found out that coaching. Everyone is not the same. You have to approach all athletes different. Some athletes doesn’t require a lot of yelling, but some athletes do and those that do sometimes that yelling strikes of fear into getting them on the right path. some athletes are just wired different and you have to find out what works and what don’t work, but the same method does not work for every athlete it just doesn’t.

How about the coach that screams and yells. Pulls you the moment u make a petty mistake. I need to show my teen this, she's in a very toxic situation and it's having fun anymore.

Good stuff. .Listen to Rick Rassier's podcast, "The Biggest Lie in Sports" & "The Ticket to the Next Level" for the right perspective. He also has one where he talks about the biggest obstacles in sports and puts a lot of envious on the fear of losing.

Yes I don’t know what happened to me senior year for basketball I made the team after being cut the previous year, I remember all the plays and then one day it all went away barely touched the floor it’s like my love for the game just left me I never could really show how good I was in games, I think being cut my junior year really hurt me I felt completely empty inside I guess I never healed from it

doing what you do best on court/field. that's what we do. we aren't the best team but that's how we work together as a team. because when we start focusing on winning, games go south

@balasubramanianviswanathan88063 жыл бұрын
You are still peaking, dont worry about age, try to do a biomech analysis, if there is a scientific sports coaching institute nearby visit them, lot of details come into play when to plan to come back, posture, gait, muscle power (there are 2 type of muscles - one which give short bursts of power and the other which sustains power for a long duration) endurance, if you school / college has a coach it would be better or seek guidance from an Exercise Physiologist and Sports Physio
