Fanstastic ! I'm not an athlete by profession (IT), but I am planning to use your content to help me better perform at work, especially at times when I feel distracted by my environment :)

Same, he is good. When I was a D1 athlete he helped me almost win a conference (placed second) when I was only a sophomore. Now I’m working and remember his content and planning to use it for work as well. Hope you continue to use. Cause I know us as humans tend to forget sometimes. I did

What would you recommend if the person is just having a bad day at practice and can't concentrate period ? Hang in there and shoot through it, stop practice and resume later that day or maybe just hang it up until tomorrow so they don't reinforce any negative thoughts from bad shots ?

Richard, Everybody has bad days! When things aren't going well, and no matter what you try you can't stop yourself from getting frustrated and down on yourself, and you can't "reset" your focus, then it makes perfect sense for you to not try to push thru this and instead, stop for the time being or day to let your nervous system settle. Nothing constructive comes out of a practice where you're beating up on yourself! That's just a sign that you're nervous system is over-activated. If you keep trying to force yourself to work thru this kind of a situation, things will only get worse for you. You'll get more and more upset with yourself and the more upset you get, the further offline your skills will go!

@@TheCompetitivedge Thanks Doc. I don't like to quit I feel like i'm giving up. But that's exactly what I did the other day. I didn't shoot for two days and came back yesterday and had a great practice. I feel much better.

This is often the best thing to do when you're practicing and things aren't working well AND you're finding that you're getting upset with yourself. That's always a sign that your nervous system is getting over-activated and the best thing to always do in those situations is to not try to force yourself thru them, but to take a break to settle yourself down again and then the next day or two later, you go back!
