I just recently broke my stash of Augason Farm Whole Eggs open as we now have egg shortages in CA! Mine came out different even when I prepared and cooked like yours. It has an orange-grayish tint unlike your soft, bright yellow. Your version really looks like fresh eggs! Regarding taste, I can definitely tell the difference between it and fresh eggs. It is edible with a slight discernible taste difference which I mask with hot sauce. Prior to this, I had tried the Augason Farm Scrambled Eggs. It tasted terrible! I think it's due to it being combined with oil from cooking before dehydrating. I cannot see myself eating it during an emergency as I tried everything I could to mask the unusual taste - adding onions, hot sauce, and sour cream. Thank goodness I only purchased one can. I'm going to have to throw it out, but I was thankful, the Whole Eggs were much, much better!

I had eggs every morning when I was in the hospital due to a stroke. They were delicious!! When I asked if I could have a larger serving (if my doctor agreed). The nurse was astonished. She said no other patient had ever said this. I said I would eat their helpings!

Kevin, we spent around $30 per can for the whole egg powder. It's now up to $115 per can. They culled millions of chickens over alleged bird flu. I'm sure this has affected the price of the egg powder, as there are far fewer laying hens out there.

I appreciate your taste test review. Your powdered eggs looked like eggs, but when I made them they looked quite different and the taste was not like a normal egg. I noticed that you added one cup of powder and two-thirds cup of water. I followed the directions and used one cup of powder and one cup of water. I will try making them again using your directions. Thank you for your video on making the eggs..

@woodystube1000
@woodystube1000 Ай бұрын
@@charlotte-m5d This is a matter of personal preference. Cooking eggs over higher heat really degrades the flavor and tends to overcook them. Experiment with low and slow egg cooking compared to high heat cooking, and leave them a little wet around the edges. Use a little more butter if you have issues with them sticking, and stir/turn constantly with a spatula. They will come out much fluffier and lighter, and you will be surprised how much better they taste.

I have been wanting to do this but what is the cost of keeping a chicken fed? I don't know much but I do know that chickens will peck around in the ground and eat bugs that they see but from what I've been told you have to feed them grain or something so I'm just wondering if it's cheaper to buy eggs even if it's an inflated price but would it still come out cheaper to buy chickens and feed them to get the eggs. I don't know exactly how much feed they would need and how much that cost so that's what I have to look into

The eggs stuck because the pan wasnt oiled well enough before using it that pan is perfectly safe for this family to cook for themselves and their neighborhood, could use some elbow grease and some love sure. Carbon is a building block of cancer yes, but in that respect taking care of chickens is more cancerous than that pan.
