These old Chevy motors were meant to run a lifetime.......maybe 2! Imagine if they would have had ceramic coating back then! You can rebuild these old motors with today's tech and they will last forever!! Man, I love the look of the 58, but my all time favorite is a 60 Chevy bubble top 2 door Impala with the 348. My Dad had one that was Roman red, and we put bucket seats and a center console out of a 60 something T Bird. The car looked like it just rolled off the factory floor, we kept it immaculate. That was supposed to be my first car, but he sold it when I was 14, it crushed me!!! Man, the inside of that tank looked almost pristine, got really lucky there! New sub.

Always liked them, too -- especially in the strange 2-tone colors.

Great 2 videos! It is good to take alternate route ever so often! Many other high subscribers do the same. Corvettes are great, but other vintage cars are too!

That poor old Chevy needs "the laying on of hands". The interior looks like a wildebeest died in there. Good luck!

I've always been impressed with how well older low compression V8s start and run.

LS, etc. are great, but I still feel the small block Chevy is the greatest of all engines. I mean, that thing just sat there and idled.

Ben, is there any signs that this car ever had an aftermarket under dash A/C unit installed in it?

Always put in the hottest thermostat you can, it will help you in Winter, and even like a 180 thermostat, it will stay open in Summer.

We don’t really have winter in Texas. Entire winter last year we didn’t have one snow day

@@TheCorvetteBen I live in tropical Queensland, Australia. We have a dry season and a wet season. The coldest it ever gets here is 6 degrees Celsius (about 42F) lol.

Fuse block and relays ?? maybe corrosion on the contacts or just a hacked harness.

The body repair panels are not very expensive either, repair the rust with the proper panels.

Is that old water pump going to hold up? What was the chain with the radiator for? I enjoyed watching.
