Tobey's Spider-Man 1 & The Spectacular Spider-Man did cover this aspect for quite a bit. But the only difference is both Normans didn't know that Peter is Spider-Man. The Ultimate Spider-Man comics did the same as well, & Norman realized that Peter is Spider-Man way earlier because it's his own genetically modified spider that bit Peter. Looks like this MCU series will borrow most elements from Ultimate along with a bit from Tobey & Spectacular. Norman knew MCU Peter is Spider-Man, but the spider that bit him must be from elsewhere unless this series or the future MCU movies decided to retcon its origin to exactly what Ultimate did.

If the information about the Different Universe is true, that makes sense and is somewhat relieving due to known information and characters that show up in the series that we know of. As of right now, the way I see it is a slight offshoot of Homecoming. So pretty much a similar setup, but different outcome. What’s just as interesting though, is that much like Zombies, this is pretty much a “What If?” Spinoff in a sense.

One of the really refreshing things about the Spider-Man PlayStation 4 game was it showed us a Peter Parker who was no longer in school. I am OK with a teenage Peter Parker, but sometimes just for a variety I’d like to see one is a little older.
