You take me to woodland village surrounded by green heath and ancient church,not only it's beautiful but also could be a retreat for rest,quite out of noise and din of city life,I pay Herbert Evans tribute for making us a traveller,this village is unique for it's being serene and quite,I thing never in the world one can find such a place,how lucky the people who are living there. The history of church,the hospital,story of crusade are all worthwhile to go through,

Thank you kindly indeed . I truly enjoy your videos . They are a great distraction from the other madness loosed upon us ! I hope one day that my grandchildren can visit before this vista of paradise is lost . I’d like to recommend John Rogers channel which is also on this platform. He does a fabulous job showing the remnants of London’s past and present on foot.

That's 2 miles from Fairford ...used to cycle there all the time ....er.....that is until the invasion and expulsion of the locals , starting circa 1975 ... well done ...

Oh dear Adrian. You have clearly experienced something dreadful in your and our Cotswolds. You won't be surprised to know that conversations around how the area has changed over the last couple of decades are numerous and heated, but I am afraid the subject is much more complicated than just a takeover bid. So much has changed in how people make their living, where the young actually want to live, the cost of country life, ...the list is endless. My view is that the area will survive the modern changes, regardless of the extent of local development and exploitation, and that in 100 years my successor will still be travelling with wonder around these beautiful hills. The children and grandchildren of all the people who have arrived here in the last few years will, by then, with every justification, see themselves as locals . I do hope your experience wasn't too devastating for you and thanks for watching. Robin

The House gardens and others around, who take care of? They are pretty and make the places so beautiful.
@TheCotswoldExplorer Жыл бұрын
Hello Sylvia. Yes it's true that some of the big houses have teams of gardeners, but it's a traditional English passion, gardening, and many are just the result of years of effort from the residents. We are blessed with a wonderful climate for this kind of horticulture. Good to hear from you as always. Thanks for watching. Robin

Why don`t you ever see people Cotswold? It looks so extinct, or is it because of the freezing cold? Thank you, your reports and videos are excellent.

These are small villages, so not many people around. Plus filming people opens up a can of worms. Visit some of the more ‘popular’ villages and towns in the summer and you’ll see plenty of people.
@adrianpeters2413 Жыл бұрын
Because they are all up in London for the week and proberly very happy they forced out the locals starting about 1974 .... brought about by the good old king charly and margret moveing there about then and the M4 motorway being completed at the same time .. was a great place , still is , but now only for the rich

@@adrianpeters2413 thankfully, we live in a country where we can freely move. Most genuine villages (away from the tourist trail) will have a healthy mix of old and new villagers. 👍
