Our senses can sometimes deceive us. Then our imaginations and anxieties take over as we try to make sense of it all. Those, better equipped than most of us, turn it all into very nice ghost stories, of which this is one. Thank you and Seasons Greetings.

Wow,Robin, you really picked a very creepy story, however it is one of the. least terrifying (IMHO), tales from Father Hugh Benson’s ‘Mirror of Shalott” I have read all of his books. and they are all excellent and Edifying for a Christian Soul.. As I recall, the setting for Father Maccsfield’s Tale was a group of Roman Catholic priests staying together in a Residence while attending a Retreat of some kind. They all met by the fireplace in a cozy room each evening after dinner. Each evening one of the priests would share his most memorable encounter with something that could not be explained in rational terms. Wishing you and your loved ones and all of your loyal followers, a Very Blessed and Merry Chistmas💕💕. from NW WA 🌲🌲🇺🇸

What an odd little tale. A ghost story where the ghost isn't really ever seen or proven. Quaint! Thank you, Robin, for sharing this ghostly tale. May God bless you and those you love. Have a merry little Christmas and a very happy New Year. Looking forward to what you will bring to us in the new year. 🎄🎆❤

Marvelous storytelling. I wonder if the book mentions the location of said house, laurel path and church. It would be interesting to see if something survived.
