Your story of romanticizing your life reminded me of an elderly woman who came to my work today and she was wearing all lapis lazuli blue. Right down to her earrings and the string that held her glasses! I made a comment about how sweet she looked with all her matching colors and she exclaimed "yes but my socks are yellow!" with glee. She then said, "It's important to always take an opportunity to be creative." It was such a lovely moment. She said she was a water color artist. I plan to take her advice to heart, and yours. Thank you.

What a lovely story!! It put a smile on my face and in my heart ... It is beautiful to think about how little it takes to make changes that mean a lot to people. I mean, that lady's choice of colors and her charming attitude, now brings joy to others ... She created ripples of joyous energy, that will now spread ... Thank you for spreading seeds of joy!!

Just remember that "elderly" refers to people who are geriatric, 80 plus, the last chapters of life. Often not even then. I know an 80 year old friend who still roofs her own greenhouse and planted there dozen apple trees by hand and shovel last month, so, SHE certainly is not yet anywhere near "elderly." Be VERY CAREFUL of using that phrase. As a woman over 55, I see that people over 55 are thought of as "sweet" or "cute" and adressed that way. BE VERY CAREFUL. In Native culture, one would never say things like that, it can be demeaning. Older people are not children.

I am 75 and have had a magical dream fantasy life. I’ve laid on the ground to capture the picture of some amazing flower, mushroom, or moss. BTW that form of viewing is called “belly-button-botany”. Recently I was cleaning a window in the upstairs guest room and watched as a red-tailed hawk feather floated down in front of my eyes. I immediately retrieved it and took it as a special sign sent just to me. I cannot imagine a world where there is not magic and wonder. Keep dancing the dance - you are not alone.

I allude often to seeing life as a set of ‘chapters’ to a storybook, but I wanted to unpack that a bit more in this video. I am a lover of fantasy and fairytales, of movies and books and music that transport me to other worlds or enhance my own… of romanticizing aspects of daily life. This is an open discussion on how those things can be potentially very healthy outlets for those who enjoy them. Obviously, this topic isn’t about romanticizing unhealthy or unsafe situations or using escapism as a crutch (I hope that goes without saying, as I find it ineffective to fill each video with many disclaimers - I wouldn’t have room for anything else if I did!). It’s about finding balance and enjoying art and imagination to the fullest and letting it imbue your world with magic ✨✨

At every moment in our lives, we have a choice. We can focus on the negative, maybe relive a painful memory, focus on what we don't have. Or, we can focus on the positive, see the blessings, see the beauty. And what we think about is what we propagate because we create our worlds with our thoughts. Some years ago, i chose to keep focusing on the good, on the lovely, on the beautiful....and my life changed from being a hellish existence to a beautiful world. Thank you, Paola, for sharing how you created this beautiful world for yourself and for sharing it with us, teaching us how we can do it, too.

I remember a conversation with my neighbour (a friend of my mum) who told me "Why do you like fantasy? It isn't possible that those mages and beings exist." With a mild smile, I replied "And that's what makes them so truly magic. I dont' want to concentrate on real facts and what's acually possible only, because those non-existing worlds are my own place of refuge." As a writer of Dark/Classic/High Fantasy, I can proudly call myself a dreamer. I'm currently working on my first novel and this work is like the portal to another world I invented myself. It's one of the most wondrous and beautiful feelings I could ever experience.

I am a pretty sensitive spirit and find it hard to connect with other people. But when everything feels uncertain, I imagine that I have a little house next to your cottage, with a beautiful garden and scrumptious flowers. That I have a lot of free time to walk Into the woods, paint whenever I want to, read my favorite books, and never worry about my scores and exams. I know, it sounds weird and stupid but it is the only thing I can do when anxiety hits my body so badly. Thank you my friend for helping me, even though you don't even know me. I adore sunflowers, so I thought I’d share a brief version of my favorite Greek myth here because I think the people watching this would appreciate it: Clytie loved Helios, God of the Sun. One day, she walked into a field, knelt in the grass, and watched as he pulled the sun across the sky. When the sun was gone, she longed for another glimpse of him, so she stayed kneeling in that field and staring into the sky until he came back again. She did see him again, but he never noticed her. She stayed like this for 9 long days, living only on the dew and her own tears, because she never was able to have him. Eventually, her feet and legs became rooted into the field, and she became a beautiful sunflower - always looking toward the sun. ☀️🌻

I spend my days working in an office, I love my job but when I get out I need to also give voice to my more creative side. I often live in my reveries of a future life in my own little wooden cottage, of building my house myself, of doing art and having long walks in the woods. Sometimes it's very hard to be brought back to reality by more "practical" people but knowing I have this place where I can feel accepted is just so encouraging!

Seriously, Paola, I would probably tie myself to one of those trees and NEVER leave! Such breathtaking beauty!! And that river GORGEOUS! Your video came out great! That waterfall reminds me of one I was climbing in Puerto Rico many years ago when I didn't have a weak left hip! I was told by a local that it can be dangerous since a torrent of river water (from rainfall) can come down unexpectedly and that would be the end of me and maybe anyone swimming below. I learned something that I didn't know, but I really enjoyed climbing those boulders!! As a child I loved coming across mushrooms on the ground. They are so soft, round, pretty and so intricate in their design. I have to admit as a child, I couldn't resist crushing them with my hands!! Sorry pretty mushrooms! 🤭 You have sunflowers and poppies in your garden...how wonderful!! But it made me sad when you cut off the sunflower head, but relieved that it was for the birds...how kind. 🙃 What a fruitful gardener you are!! Potatoes and onions! You and Luke will never starve!! Another soothing, beautiful, & magical journey ❤️ In this world that we live in & having to "adult", it is wonderful to visit you & your fur babies for a little while. Thanks for reminding me that the magic of our imagination is still there we only need to tap into it...💕

What you saying about "We have to know how to dream, to imagine a better world, to seek out the good. In order to build the peace. To nurture our own dream when others doubt themselves. Maybe I'm a idealist , but I don't want to be anything else." It's totally speaking my inner voice. Thank you to be you and showing it how.

Your videos are always so uplifting, and it makes me desperately want to learn to see all the beauty and light rather than dwelling on the darker sides of life. You are inspiring and you make me wish to do more. I can't wait to hear more of your fairytales.

I find it hard to stable my life. I was crying every single day. But these few days, I’ve been thinking, everyone is going through this, it’s okay to think about negatives more than positives, remember that you’re a special person. Thinking about this, I had always have a smile on my face. Watching videos or photos about nature just makes me smile more, eating chocolate cake makes me smile more, I don’t know…is this magic? :)

Paola, ALL of your videos are wonderful, yet this one touched me in an extra deep way. Seeing the world from a slightly different angle, focus on details and beauty that surrounds us no matter where we live, and keeping hopefulness in the heart - these are what your art, in all its forms, bring. After watching and listening, my world becomes fuller and richer, and my heart lighter. Thank you for pointing out that your life does not always look the way it looks in your films. Thank you from the depths of my being.

I just love the way you describe hard times with a smile on your lips. That little smile surely tells us silently how to deal with difficulties that we come across in our lives. I appreciate you, and to be honest, locking ourselves up in this time of corona, I envy the life you are living. So much of thanks, fairy, for making my day happy and peaceful, Love from Sri Lanka!

I just wanted to say thank you for creating this channel. I only recently found your videos and not a moment too soon. I am a dreamer with a very, very vivid imagination. When I stepped into my lovely 9 to 5 I had to step away from my dreamer, my inner storyteller, my inner photographer. My inner child who wants nothing more than to just play outside, imagine and create. Your videos are helping me to re-embrace who I am and love life again.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for these videos. I rescue dogs from shelters and/or abusive situations. I always have meditations, soft nature music, Bob Ross, etc. on TV. Only peaceful sounds. I have a new rescue (10 days ago) and trying to help her relieve stress and anxiety. I have to keep her separated from my other rescues because she has been attacked by other dogs in her past. I love her. I love all my rescues. I stumbled on your videos and I cannot begin to tell you how I appreciate the peace they bring. My dogs love the soothing sounds and I love them too. We also love your black lab! ❤ Thank you for sharing with us. We are grateful for you.

Paola, at the beginning of the year I found your channel. The peace I found from watching was so therapeutic. Although, I was living in a big city and was feeling very empty I was longing for ways to get to a small mtn town, to embrace my wanderlust at 47 years of age. During that time you mentioned in one of your videos that even though I was longing for the mtn I could still find a “reality” of peace where I was at. I embraced that until I moved! Now I am living in a small mtn town on the Western Slope of Colorado and my heart is so full of joy. Yes, there are days that are mundane and challenging but you helped me get here! I for one am extremely thankful for your channel and sharing your life with us! Thank you!

This video...was my favorite of all! You made such an important point about dreams and reality. If we naturally dream in our sleep, that means dreaming is part of our nature. It makes sense to think that day dreaming is something natural too. Thank you sweetie, and God bless you!

I was so inspired as to what you said today. The wonder in my grandchildren's eyes as they look upon me and hang on oh so tight to my every word. My made up stories of magic and mystery.....tell me more grandma tell me more stories. Oh how they love to play and pretend. Taking care of them, at the end of the day I'm so tired but maybe, just maybe through wonder and delight my legacy are them and just think.......of all the magic and wonder they will bring into the world....just because simply grandma just loved them and took the magical child within me to ignite within them. Wow! Sit back and watch them bloom and blossom. At 80 years old I can sit on the porch, with a cup of coffee, reflect, grin happily, be proud, thank jesus and say......oh, look at them. I did it!

A friend introduced me to your channel just yesterday and I'm so thankful for that. You remind me a lot of myself and it's helping me to just go ahead and embrace who I am. I thank you and I thank God. I've been telling Him lately how I'm struggling with insecurities again and I believe 'finding' your channel is one of His ways of telling me that I'm beautiful the way I am and that He created me like that for a reason. I like what you said about staying positive about the future while finding little ways to improve the present. Subscribed. Blessings from Canada.🌞

I start my day here in India with your new videos, and it just always succeeds in getting me into the best mindset. I feel so calm and dreamy to get going with my schedule now. I’ve always had a similar attitude towards life as you describe here, of vivid imagination, appreciation of beauty and storytelling, which hasn’t been so good lately though, as i’vr struggled with being a new mom in a foreign country and missing my native country and family there for almost 2 years. But you always remind me of my innermost self. Now i want to even get back to my old dream of creating a fairytale book ❤️

Ah! I am honored to hear that - sending you hugs, while Puerto Rico is part of the US when my mother moved from there to New York it was a huge adjustment culturally (not to mention a language barrier). It took her a long time but she said myself and siblings helped it feel more like home. Wishing you the very best and please do write that fairytale book!

As soon as I get notified you have a new video available I get anxious to view it. I love the calmness it brings to me and the beauty of your surroundings. I live in a small river town in Northern Kentucky where the houses are all squished up next to each other and the yards are quite small. I have flowers planted in my yard that I love and a weeping cherry tree in the back yard that grew much larger than we thought it would so now it shades most of the back yard so bye bye vegetable garden!. My husband and I also own a log cabin in the woods at the foot of the Smoky Mountains in TN so that is where we go to escape from town every chance we get. Thank you for sharing and I look forward to your next video.

Hi Paola, A long while ago I commented on your surname being very important to my country, and I thought I'd tell you again because it makes me very happy every time I watch your videos. I come from Malta where the Merill or Blue Rock Thrush is our national bird and has even been seen on our old currency (Lira). I can't help imagining your heart like that sweet little bird that spends so much time in nature. We even have songs dedicated to the Merill on how every morning it wakes up singing! Wishing you all the best!! Take care ❤️

The landscape around your cottage is absolutely amazing. Seeing the seasons change as you post through out the year is great! I live in an urban location but near the water along the Pacific Coast. Within and around this area there are pockets of natural beauty that I can escape to and connect with nature. Your message today was beautiful and we are all blessed to have a kindred spirit who is willing to share her thoughts and experiences in a place where we all can connect no matter who we are.
