I miss that crazy little Nova! I hope she can come and visit the podcast sometime. I am so glad that things are going a lot better with Noah and I am shocked to hear that he is walking already! I loved seeing all that you are working on, and I hope you get your crochet elbow back soon.

I'm glad you were able to find mom's and babies who will benefit from your extra milk. As for the reactions to natural ingredients, my youngest is allergic to zinc oxide which is the better for you sunscreen. He's stuck using the cancer causing chemical sunscreens. Zinc oxide is also considered hypoallergenic.

I had a similar reaction to natural sunscreen once too. It made my skin feel like it was on fire, and it was supposed to be hypoallergenic. Bodies are so weird

So happy Nova is enjoying school. I did a similar thing to my elbow - banged it good and ended up with tennis elbow. My doc sent me to PT to have electric stimulation therapy and it helped a LOT. Also, a trick I learned there was to fill a paper cup with water and freeze it then rub the ice in circles on the affected area. As the ice melts, you peel the cup back, then place back in freezer for the next time. This puts the cold directly where it is needed.

That's a great idea for the paper cup! I will try it

We had the nap problem also. Spoke to the teacher she is allowed quiet time instead of sleep . Then the doctor suggested melatonin small dose for quiet time at bed time. 🎉

I agree about designers who don't give stitch count. I am making a beach cover up and there are no measurements , stitch counts or pictures of the finished pieces before you put them together. I have as already started doing my own design. You have gotten so much done. So glad to hear Nova is doing so well.❤

I like the colour pooling so far on the Wonder Woman shawl. Stitch counts are really important to me so I can under your frustration. Glad Nova is enjoying school. Hope you see some improvements in the elbow soon. You should tell the doctor about the itch response.

I did tell the doctor about the itchiness, and their response was that I should take Benadryl 😕. It helped slightly but of course Benadryl makes me SUPER TIRED so I couldn't take it during the day while the kiddos were up and around

Hi, Hannah! Love that you continue to make crochet projects as well as knit, since I do both, also.😊 I have tennis elbow from work, so I can sympathize. Never had cortisone shots in the elbow, but did in my hip for bursitis. The good part is the effect lasts really well for 3 months, and then for a lesser amount after that. I always just had 1 shot a year. I also use aspercreme as a topical treatment for my tennis elbow, and it helps. Glad Nova likes school. I am making more socks, but this time wool ones for winter.

Hello! So good to see you. Isn't it amazing how much more time you have when a child is in school. I remember when my two oldest were in school and I only had my baby Liam. I had time to myself when he napped and time with just him during the day. Niw I'm finding it hard to believe that my last baby will be turning 8 at the end of the month. He still wants me to tuck him in at night and I hope it stays that way for as many years as possible. I hope that Nova is loving school. My oldest son stopped napping just before he turned 3. I ended up just letting him have quiet time in his room and not forcing him to nap. He still seems to need less sleep than my other children. Hopefully the teachers will allow her to quietly read or color. I've been getting that itchy all over feeling off and on for a month now and I cannot figure out what is causing it. Not sure if it will work for you, but I recently learned that you can use facial toner with 5-7% glycolic acid on your arm pits and that will kill the bacteria that causes odor. I plan to try it. My skin is super sensitive so hopefully it works without unpleasant side effects.
@TheCozyCottageCrochet

Oooh that is very interesting. I will have to get some facial toner and try it! Have you tried it yet? Nova is LOVING school. She is sad on the weekends because there isn't any school on Saturdays 😅 I hope your baby will let you tuck him in as long as possible 💜💜

@@TheCozyCottageCrochet Yes, I'm using Thayer's 2% AHA toner(fragrance free & alcohol free). I've been using it for a little over a week with no issues. I use it anywhere that sweats and gets odor. It works well at controlling the odor (killing the bacteria). I just use a body spray if I want a nice scent. From what I read you can use any facial toner that has up to 7% glycolic acid. My 19 year old daughter has started using it also. She has always had trouble with body odor and this has fixed that problem for her.

I'm just finishing a round blanket I should never have started because it violated my vow to get serious about all my WIPs. I have so many half done things languishing in bags strewn all over the place, but I guess I get bored and have to start something new. So hopefully this round blanket is the last new thing I start for a while, and hopefully I'll actually finish it. It's getting a border of little flowers. When that's done, I'm going back to my blanket yarn blanket, which goes fast, but it'll be huge if I ever finish it... and then there's my granny square sweater and a couple of lace scarves ... and then some *really* old projects that I either need to finish or frog. I'm hoping to finish/frog all of it before my 90th birthday - in 2053. LOL! Does Lume have an unscented variety that might work for you? (but the scent is the best part! And maybe it's not just the scent that causes trouble ...) Give Nova plenty of time to get accustomed to her new schedule - like a month or two. It may be quite an adjustment, but eventually it should iron out on its own, and she'll naturally find a way to get those other 2 hours of sleep.

My husband protected my son's head from smashing off a wall in our house a few weeks ago, in doing so he messed up his little finger. He's going to have to have an x-ray I think, thankfully we're in the UK. Fun fact, steroids make some people itchy! I'm an asthmatic and my inhaler makes me itchy so I have to take a daily antihistamine, which is fine because I also have hay fever *sigh* glad the milk went to feed hungry babies and it's out of your house! My son's nursery made him drop his last nap before he and we were ready because he was the only kid on his nursery group that still napped, he went from having a 3hr nap to non at all. That was hell for a while. If you don't think Nova needs one, and she dropped it a while ago so clearly doesn't it's request she not have one at pre-K.

Hey Hanna, I haven't been knitting or crochet but doing plastic canvas, I recently finished a 6 foot tall posable plastic canvas Frankenstein, got the kit from Herrschners. Now I am making some fall decorations, supposted to be coasters, but I'm going to hang them as ornaments, leaves and pumpkins in black and orange gingham print also from Herrschners. Just something a little different for a while to give myself a little break.

It could be that she is just hyped up with school just starting. As she settles in she may likely settle down. My understanding is that they can't force naps, so if you ask them to let her color or do something quietly at a table, they should be able to accommodate that. Sounds like she is loving it, though. Sometimes it just takes a while for their sleep to settle again. For the deodorant, does it have baking soda in it? A lot of people get rashes from baking soda in natural deodorants. It isn't really an allergy, I guess. But a reaction. I can't use anything with baking soda in it, either.

That’s really interesting about the deodorant Hannah. I’ve had a similar experience with natural detergent. I was wondering if the company might actually be interested in your experience because you were fine for so long before it irritated you. I wear a tennis elbow brace daily to help keep my elbow happy. Interestingly enough things like typing on my phone or using my stylus on my iPad can trigger it much more than crochet. Glad you are a bit feeling better. 🧶💜😊
