So sorry for the camera shake! I recorded in 120fps and it imported in Slow Motion! I was able to save the footage but doing so created all the weird shake! I was trying something new on the camera and goofed! I fixed it for the next video!!! Thanks for understanding!!!

I just received my 5040 Nymolabs cnc, looks like solid cnc, waiting on some collets and endmills. Still looking and cam software to use. Keep up the good work with your KZbin sight.

I just purchased this machine also. With the help of an engineer friend, I'm teaching myself Solidworks. What CAM software did you wind up using? I'm a bit confused on that. If I understand correctly, you export your design from your CAD program to a CAM program that actually runs the machine? Looking at UGS right now

Great video, I bought 5040 from the Nymolabs website, and with a $600 discount recently, it seems like a New Year activity.

Not being picky, but wouldn’t something like a 20 degree V bit given you thinner, cleaner lines?
@TheCrawlspaceCraftsman11 ай бұрын
100% yes!!! It’s funny you say that because I thought of this AFTER this board. It think at the end of the day…. I would use a 1/16 bit just to make the lines thinner. Either way…. It works great!

I like the way you use Lightburn as a vector illustration tool. Hope you do not mind the critique here but the shaky camera is very disorientating. fixing your camera/phone while filming will greatly improve things. I wish the best. Subbed.

I can’t agree with you more! So I accidentally recorded in slow motion 120fps! I was able to save the footage by speeding up the clips and getting my voice right but in doing so… it picked up shakes! Thanks for understanding and subbing!! Still learning this camera and thought I’d try something new and goofed that up! LoL

Great initial review and follow-up up here. What is the maximum width that you can fit between the Y rails? Can you fit a 24" wide board? I understand the working area for carving is only about 20", but would want to fit 24" wide board
@TheCrawlspaceCraftsman8 ай бұрын
Not using the NBX-5040. You’ll only get a little more than 22.5. BUT!!…. If you buy the NBS-6040 you can get a board about 26.75 with no issues!!!

@TheCrawlspaceCraftsman thanks for the reply. To be clear, is that the measurement between the black dust shields outside the cutting area or the distance between silver Y assembly. If the black dust shields are removed would there be 24" clearance? Thank you!
@TheCrawlspaceCraftsman8 ай бұрын
@@msguillory8996 yes! If you remove them 24” would be tight but it would work! Those don’t do much of anything anyway!

Awesome video! What type of software would you recommend to use for NymoLabs. I have the 6040 but I haven't put it all together yet. I'm building a table and enclosure. I also have a Vesa mount for my touchscreen monitor. To use with either UGS or Candle. I am just wondering if you could point me In the right direction for what you use for CAD / CAM software and what you use to run your machine? I am new to CNC but I have a background in 3D printing and laser engraving. I have an Ender 3 S1 pro and Bambu X1C and AMS. So I have a little background with Fusion 360 free edition.

Not gunna lie I’m not a guru on a lot of CAD/CAM software out there. I personally use Easel as it’s the easiest and new user friendly out there! I don’t do do ridiculously intricate cuts but you will find that Easel has ALOT to offer. If your good with F360 your gunna get the hang of CNCing quick.

I just received my router, first time using it. Candle software works good, and easy to use. I am also still undecided on cam software. Doing more research.
