The 'Living the Good Life' segment was quite an eye opener. I totally agree with you on that perspective since Vietnam is still a relatively affordable place to live especially since majority of the population is comfortable with getting a bike or scooter. Which means they have more disposable income every month to eat out and enjoy themselves. At the end of the day, isn't this what life is supposed to be?

Interesting insight Doug around the affordability "sweet spots" of societies. Unaffordability of life eventually flows through to birth rates and declining population growth. Australia in same boat as Canada in this regard sadly. The golden years are in the rear view mirror.

As for the “Nam” you mentioned at 9:15. For the bank it’s mean the south and the “a” is probably “ châu á” as in Asia so the bank names is South Asia bank. For the toilet on the other hand the “Nam” means the gender male, both “Nam” is literally the same when it comes to spelling and pronouns but have different meanings depending on the context. For example the “Nam” in “Viet Nam” stand for south, the reason there is a direction in the name is because it from way back in the china invasion, where vietnam was call “Nam quốc” or the southern country/kingdom, and china is the north. Take these with a grain of salt though, i sleep though history class, i only remember a few thing here and there
