My daughter's school just opened this year. It sits in the campus of the Agnews Asylum which is where Green Day filmed the music video for Basket Case. The school campus has an elementary, middle and high school campus on them. Each school took thier color inspiration behind diffrent tiles from Agnews. The middle school has some of the tiles, artifacts and the history of Agnews displayed. The other half of the Agnews Asylum is being developed into a city park with plans to preserve a few original buildings. My daughter is a metal lover but when I showed her the Basket Case video and explained the connection to school she opened her music loving soul and allowed Green Day into her "this is awesome" music list. From Wikipedia "The "Basket Case" video was directed by Mark Kohr.[30] The video was filmed in an actual mental institution called Agnews Developmental Center in Santa Clara County, California, at the request of the band members. The mental institution had been abandoned, but most of the structure remained in a broken-down state. The band members found old patient files, deep scratches in the walls and dental molds scattered around."

My friend and I used to work for a local band in San Francisco. They played at Berkeley Square. They were called Voice Farm. They were more New Wave than Punk. We sold their merchandise for them. It was a great spot I also remember long leather sofa’s along the sides of the wall's, a black & white checkered floor

You dropped names of so many bands I hadn’t thought of in years in this video. The Screw 32 reference blew my mind I assumed they were microscopic I believe I had their only? album years ago. I really only went to punk rock shows for one year (2000-2001) but I saw at least 60 bands in that one whirlwind year. I saw AFI open for Rancid that was probably the most memorable one as far as crowd atmosphere (those AFI fans at that moment in time were peak peak rabid by the time Rancid came on the energy in building had mellowed dramatically haha).

The name Blink was thought up by Tom DeLonge when the band consisted of Tom, Mark, and their friend Scott Raynor (before Blink they called themselves Duck Tape). They were forced to change it because an Irish electronica artist was already using that name, so they added “182” to the end.

I never was a Metalica fan growing up, until the Yankees got Mariano Rivera(aka MO, Enter The Sandman). Their hit became his OFFICIAL entrance song, because it was SO FITTING, the GOAT of MLB closers. Using just ONE PITCH(The cutter). Unbelievable. I started to listen to them after his entrance song stuck with me, and I really enjoy them until today even. I always thought that they were MUCH older though, like from the 70s, even late 60s, because I was and still am a huge GnR and Motley Crue fan. I always thought Metallica was a way older band.
