It's our past that helps propel us in to our future. Growing up poor myself, I made decisions in my high school days that I was not going to live that way when I got older. I joined the Air Force at 18 and never looked back. However, not having money, nice clothes, etc., taught me alot and help propel me to where I am today! I frequently go back and look at my old houses and neighborhoods.

Oh this was Wonderful, Adam!! Like I've told you before, I was raised around this area and you are constantly bringing back memories to me, also!!! I wish that I could have taken more photos even back then. It's so funny, when hubby and I married, we never even figured we'd ever see the year 2000!!!! And we would be 50--shocker---that would never happen. Haha, the joke was on us! We imagined Flying Cars and scenes from the Jetsons. LOL! Didn't exactly turn out that way!!! :D Now we're in our 70's and it's so wonderful to look back and remember home. Thanks so much!

Adam wrote: "Don’t forget your roots" -- Exactly! Nostalgia is a powerful yet unseen thing that affects us all. This vlog is a fine and interesting trip you shared with us about your past times. For no solid reason, my wife and I have journeyed many times to the site of where we met, working together in 1977--at the old location of a daily newspaper facility in Fullerton, California...This daily was a fine newspaper with a long history, that was sadly sold off, and became a weekly throw away in 1984... Later the main editorial office and the huge press plant became a large defense industry office...Then in about 2013, this cool building, built in 1962, was knocked down to build high priced condominiums. We have sat there on Valencia Avenue in our car, looking at the familiar yet far different location where we once worked as virtual children--me a young photographer, she was a young CSUF graduate, and a newly minted city reporter--and we wonder aloud where the 43+ years have disappeared to...

New to your channel you do an outstanding job. My Family moved to that area Kissimmee Florida in 1976. We only stayed one year before returning to New York. It is absolutely amazing how much the area has grown. I believe back in those days many of the residential streets of St. Cloud were dirt roads as my buddy Larry who had a brand new Chevy Nova.( also a northern kid whose family relocated south) He was a maniac driver sliding sideways on those dirt roads. I believe he had ambitions of a career as a Hollywood Stunt Man. There was an area at Disney World my siblings and friends would frequent often more than once a week was "River Country" I, Richard was sad to hear had closed down many years ago. Best Regards

Very interesting watching your videos, and this one in particular, because it is my old stomping grounds. Left Illinois to go to Florida in 1986, and worked at Disney 6 years. I lived for awhile in Kissimmee used to make that busy drive down 192 to work at Disney. I remember hanging out at the one dollar movie theatre in the old downtown part of town. I used to love to hang out at the arcade in "Old town" where they used to sell 5 cent cokes, and had lots of crazy thrill rides. I see the big orange gift shop is still there. Fun times, good memories.
