When I see that beach it definitely takes me to so many nostalgic places. The first time I went to a game at Turner Field, I kept thinking of how it was so much more comfortable than Atlanta Fulton County Stadium. But now a lot of time has passed. So many players have cone and gone so the nostalgic scenes in my mind come from AFC. Go Braves ❤️ ⚾️ 💙

That's RIGHT, Hank Aaron is the true Home Run champ! Kind of sad that they show more history of him at the Teepee than they do At AmFam Field, given that he played the majority of his career here. Point of note, if anyone is ever in Eau Claire, Wisconsin (a day trip from the Twin Cities), Aaron also played for the Eau Claire Bears, then a minor league farm team for the Boston Braves. There is a nice honor to him outside of Carson Park.

That reminds me of Chief Nocahoma, the Braves' mascot at Atlanta Fulton County Stadium. He had a teepee there. When the Braves hit a homerun, he came out of his teepee and ran around it in a victory dance. He never left the state of Georgia. He died recently. RIP. He really missed doing that for the Braves. But in today's culture, they won't allow it. It makes him sad and it makes me sad too. I'm Irish, Native American. Hey Adam! Not sure if this is already in your travel plans but if not you should definitely consider adding this stop to your agenda! Recently on our road trips up to TN from Florida and back we’ve been stopping off in Marietta for the night which is just north of Atlanta. We haven’t really explored much of it yet since we’ve always gone back to the same couple spots however we’ve heard and seen Downtown Marietta which looks very pretty & historic and they also have a food hall located nearby. We’ve also stumbled upon Mr. Tombstone’s Viynl Cafe for coffee and we’ve been back a dozen times the coffee is just that good. Another place we like is Decour de France (I think) which is a French bakery and restaraunt. They have great food, great pastries and great coffee! Lastly, there is the Marietta Diner which I’d just recommend seeing rather than eating there because the food was not great, it’s more for the experience. Again, this is just our personal recommendations but since you are in the area I thought I’d let you know! Safe travels Adam!
