I'm just kind of amazed at how open and brave you continually are to wear your heart on your sleeve and keep it real with your audience. There's a lot of vloggers out there doing what you do now, yes, but I can't watch 97 percent of it because I think I doubt, I don't know how to put it...their sincerity? I haven't been here long, but you sent your fans free merch. Like dude, who does that, honestly? There's nothing wrong with making an honest buck in this world and enjoying the fruits of one's hard work but you're clearly not just doing this for the money. That's what I'm here for. Because you care. And we care too... Congrats on 10 years. For however much longer you're willing to share, we'll always be here with our big thumbs up! Thank you Adam --Tes 👍

That plastic cover is referred to a belly pan used to keep road grime and debris out of engine compartment and helps with aero dynamics but not having it will not hurt your car any. The screws are called torx if that helps. As always I am enjoying the content.
@dizneed12 жыл бұрын
Yes, I thought they had more purpose than to keep oil from dripping on roads as he stated.
@doreen75542 жыл бұрын
Also, my Ford Escape suffers from a pretty common problem that a torx driver is handy for, there’s a screw in the handle on the inside panel of the hatch that is too short and once it comes loose your back panel shakes and vibrates and causes such a racket. Just have to pry open that handle and tighten the two screws back up and the car is quiet again!

Those covers under the car are called splash shields, and offer some level of protection for you engine components from dirt and road debris. Your car will function without it, but it could save you later on the road. It could be less that $50 depending on your car. You may pass my neck of the woods as you travel back to Florida. Shoot me an email if you want to stop by for an oil change, shield replacement, maybe even some unexpected interesting places / filming locations to see in the area.

@@e.aesthetic - On the air dam, it really does prevent the rocks and debris from coming up into the engine bay. Imagine a rock coming up and getting caught in a belt...would snap almost instantly. OP was 110% accurate.
@colty77642 жыл бұрын
right, not an emergency... but usually there is a purpose for these things. may prevent water and debris from damaging components (catalytic converter and so forth might be damaged over time if you let it go too long). Fixing it next time you get it serviced (I would go to dealership to get correct sizing, screws, techs who know the vehicle nuances, etc) would be a case of an ounce of prevention worth a pound of cure.

The under shield isn’t a make or break deal, as it is mostly for protecting the underside of the engine from dirt and small rocks and to help it be more aerodynamic for gas mileage reasons. It does help some with directing cooling to certain underparts of the vehicle (especially important on your vehicle is AWD).

That part is an engine splash shield. It helps keep road debris from entering your engine compartment and causing damage. It will keep water, snow, salt from corroding metal parts and wiring. They are relatively inexpensive, so id bite the bullet and get one installed. FYI, zip ties will often be used in lieu of screws to securely hold them in place. FYI, there are some great Youtibe channels by mechanics who I’m sure would love to collaborate with you on repairs. One is somewhat nearby your hometown in Celebration.
@mebluewater2 жыл бұрын
Well you have some of that right An engine splash shield will not prevent the underneath of your car from water or rusting
@Chrisb8s2 жыл бұрын
Yes. I came to say the same thing. Rocks and other junk can get kicked up into the engine and cause a lot more damage than the cost of replacing that plastic shield. And I am guess your could find a used one jn a salvage yard Or just call Ford.

Adam I believe you have a GEN 3 Ford Escape like I do. Those screws are torque screws. The cover is called a splash shield and it helps prevent road debris from entering your engine bay. Also it helps route air to your turbo to prevent seizing! You need to get a new one back on pronto and also replace all of the fasteners to assure a tight fit! Turbos are going for about $600 bucks for a new one without labor. If you ever have to replace it don't get a refurbished one, they wear out too fast. The new splash shield is $80 to $100 bucks or so. Happy 10th anniversary to you and the channel Adam!
@bb52422 жыл бұрын
A plastic cover doesn't route air to cool a turbo that is oil cooled.
@MidwestTechAndGaming2 жыл бұрын
@@bb5242 It is oil cooled but Ford designed the shield to route air to the turbo because of it being sandwiched in between the cat, firewall, engine and the trans case. So in that scenario for which it sits every little bit of cooling helps.

The Red School House is a real school and the Mary had a Little Lamb is based off of a true event. My great aunt who lived in the town over from Sterling, Mass, South Lancaster, had a family drawing that hung in the living room. The drawing was of Mary Sawyers house. My great aunt told me that her grandfather went to school with Mary Sawyer and the little lamb did follow her to school one day. I always have treasured this story my great aunt told me. If you go to Sterling Mass there is a little lamb statue that pays homage to the real event.
